Seems like a real good guy and cares about the environment. You should check out - "Used To Get High For A Living", "Better Than ", "Zebra" and "Spring to Come".

Love this song and I'm super excited to see you react to it! Each time this guy plays this song, he does it differently, improvising large sections. So I encourage you to check out different live versions of this, not necessarily for a reaction, but just to appreciate the different ways he plays the same song.

I was glad to know by watching your video that I was not the only one impressed by this guy. Now, to look for more by him so I can prove to myself that he's as good as I believe he is. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone in this thinking.

often times you looked like you wanted to cry, to a song with no words. i'd say that is some of the most powerful music imaginable. your silence was real, because you were legit blown away by how amazing it was. That was the proper reaction in my opinion. i still get goosebumps from this song. that's how you know how good it truly is. and i played guitar too heh. you were right, he truly is a genius in his own right.

When I saw this one I clicked on it, so excited to be able to see your appreciation for this song. It is in my top ten favorite songs of all time, my most listened to youtube song and to know that you also are so moved by it really pleases me. I guess I will have to jump over and buy you a cuppa. No matter how many times I listen to and watch this song, it never fails to send goosebumps across my skin. This song is like watching the ocean on a daily basis, some parts are quiet, just the tide coming in and out, and sometimes there is a storm brewing and the surf is crashing and the wind is blowing and the waves are chaotic. I love how he just abruptly ends it. Thank you Polo, for reacting to this gorgeous song.

Polo thank you thank you for reacting to Ocean. John Butler is a phenomenal artist. John talks about Ocean being an old friend of his, and that its a piece of music that will never be done. For me, Ocean has been my friend for the last ten years. Its got me through the worst of times and helped me to recentre myself when I'm feeling overwhelmed. And as you said Ocean absolutely takes you on a journey. It sings to your heart, its contemplative and it lifts you up. If you want to gain an appreciation of John Butler's music I recommend starting with his 2012 live solo album Tin Sheds

I've never felt how I felt when I first listened to this song, definitely a journey. It's a little crazy but it really invoked emotion in me when I hear it. It's like a celebration of life and the excitement of being young and new, like a fish just born and exploring its life. To being chased perhaps or having a traumatic event happen, maybe even a death, to rebounding and continue on with life but being changed into a part of the young and a part of the new (which is why later in the song there are components of the beginning but in a different way, to then at the end it being fleeting. That's my interpretation or feel, such highs and lows and in between. I wish there was a video of John butler explaining his influence

What am I doing here? 12:30 in the morning was picking song to sleep to but saw this, this couldn't wait. Now sweet dreams await me. When I listen to this song I imagine an entire day at the beach. The song starts with the sounds of a sunrise, then everyone getting ready, the drumming on the guitar is the excitement that builds on the way to the beach. Disembark to the shore, all the fun, calm after lunch, jumping into waves again, volleyball, it all encompassed by his guitar. Even the end sounds like a celebration, beautiful sunset, ending with a bonfire. That's the journey I experience listening to this and I live in New Mexico. Music is 2 letter away from spelling Magic. Good night. & thanks P.s. Jon Gomm: Passion Flower. There are more tricks and techniques to guitar then what you witnessed here. I not a patrion but I HIGHLY recommend this. Been subscribed since your Descending reaction.
