Finally we are in the newspaper. This was supposed to last year but unfortunately it couldn't happen because I had a serious accident and fell into a coma. I'm getting better and better now. That is why I coordinated with the newspaper that we could now publish the story.

English translation of the newspaper article... Cover story: KZbin's star Yvonne Horjus and her 'Friesian Horses' UITWELLINGERGA - "Half a million subscribers, wouldn't that be wonderful?", mused the now 39-year-old Yvonne Horjus from Uitwellingerga a year ago. She was referring to the enormous success of her KZbin channel 'Friesian Horses' where the daily life of the Friesian horses in the 'Stal fan 'e Goëngamieden' - and now also in 'Stal Horjus' - is followed. The number of KZbin subscribers of 'Friesian Horses' stood at 325,000 subscribers worldwide. That was a year ago when we also spoke to the 'horse girl' from Uitwellingerga. In addition to the success on KZbin, we also discussed her love and passion for the Friesian horses. Just before we were to publish her story, Yvonne had a serious accident. Between hope and fear A fall with a horse ended almost fatally for her. Yvonne was found unconscious in the bin where she was training. In the stable they immediately knew that it was wrong and with serious brain injuries Yvonne was transported by trauma helicopter to the ICU of the Isala hospital in Zwolle. She was in a coma and a period between hope and fear began. According to the doctors, her situation was worrying. We put our report 'on hold' and the article was kept in the hope that Yvonne would one day be okay again. Fortunately, a small miracle happened, which no one was counting on at the time. After a week, Yvonne recovered from her coma. She had made it, but not without consequences. A rehabilitation process followed and now - a year after the accident - she is doing reasonably well under the circumstances. Yvonne says that due to the brain injury she still suffers from a noise in her ear and there is hearing damage. Memory also sometimes lets her down, and she notices that she is sometimes less sharp than before. There are times when she struggles to get out of her words, especially when she starts to get tired. Yvonne says that she also receives physiotherapy because of pain in her hip and knee. She can't remember anything about the accident itself. No one was there either, so what exactly happened is a question that will remain unanswered. "I'm glad I'm still alive and I realize I've been very lucky," she says. "This could have turned out very differently and it's great that I can do so much again. I'm back for the family and I wanted to be back with the horses as soon as possible." Yvonne tells it in her characteristic down-to-earth way, and then it sounds with due pride: "I even ride a horse again!" 'Horse girl' There was no lack of willpower from Yvonne Horjus, who soon tried to pick up her KZbin channel 'Friesian Horses' again to thank her fans. As a vlogger she has made a name for herself and can safely be called one of the largest ambassadors of the Frisian Horse. Moreover, the number of subscribers continued to grow rapidly. The counter now stands at 365,000 subscribers. From an early age, horses and ponies had a great attraction for Yvonne Horjus. She grew up in the De Domp district in Sneek, together with her parents and three younger sisters. "I was the only one in our house who had 'a thing for horses,'" she says. "The rest didn't really have that. I was a real horse girl in that respect." It didn't take long before Yvonne could be found in the meadow with the ponies of farmer Huitema on the Houkesloot. Hamlet Goëngamieden At the AOC Yvonne chose to study animal care and also visited the farms in the area, looking for horses and ponies that she could take care of. Her search ended at Rein Brandsma's farm in the hamlet of Goëngamieden. When the doors of the old stable opened, she saw eight Friesian horses. That impressed the then fourteen-year-old Yvonne. "Wow! Eight Friesian horses!", she says with a laugh. This could become her world. And indeed. Rein Brandsma asked her if she wanted to stay to take care of the animals. That did not fall on deaf ears. After secondary agricultural school in Leeuwarden, where she completed the training horse husbandry and management, Yvonne went to work at stud farm Bommelsteyn in Joure. Here she did the care and training of the horses. Yvonne trained horses for several stables and for Stal Wijdewormer she also inseminated horses. She also competed in dressage. "I actually did everything that had to do with horses and I was also on the road a lot," she says of that period. From supermarket to brokerage Unfortunately, adversity also came. Yvonne suffered from rheumatic complaints, which forced her to stop her work. In 2010 she ended up in the Poiesz distribution center in Sneek and once there in the office, her body got the rest it needed. Yvonne had not said goodbye to the horse world, because after a day at the office she could quickly be found in the Stable fan 'e Goëngamieden in the evening. There she was at her place among her beloved horses with Rein Brandsma, who also runs his real estate brokerage on the same property. In 2017 Yvonne was able to start working in brandsma's real estate business. From the office she had a view of the indoor horse box, separated only by a glass wall. She was back in her horse world. And without her realizing it, her new adventure began there. For fun Yvonne: "I always liked to film and with the mobile phone I made more and more videos of the horses in and around the stable. If I liked it enough, I'd post it on KZbin." Initially for fun, she started her own KZbin channel 'Friesian Horses'. Until a video suddenly went viral. A shot in which she accompanies a young herd on her horse to a piece of pasture. Yvonne: "This video was viewed countless times and on KZbin the channel rose to five thousand subscribers in no time. I didn't know what was happening to us." The counter kept going up and Yvonne decided to take it more seriously. Every week she posted several videos that she first edited at home. On her free evenings, she sat at home behind the laptop. Silver Play Button "That took quite a lot of time," says Yvonne. Most videos have a duration of between five and fifteen minutes and are provided with English subtitles. "Just in my own coal english with some help from translation programs." A milestone was achieved in June 2020. 'Friesian Horses' reached the wonderful number of one hundred thousand subscribers. It earned her and her team - because she doesn't do it all alone - the KZbin Award 'Silver Play Button'. A popular KZbin channel also has appeal to advertisers and so Friesian Horses are also monetized. Yet the movies have always remained the same. Yvonne says that she did buy a GoPro camera, but most of it is simply recorded with the smartphone, still edited in the same way at home, and then posted on KZbin. That simplicity is perhaps the strength of the canal, in combination with the charisma and elegance of the Friesian horses. Ordinary 'reality horse TV' from the quiet surroundings in the stable without frills or frills. Crowd favorites The horses each have many fans. As an example, Yvonne mentions Rising Star, a horse that was adopted, or rather accepted by her own mare Queen Unique. This video has already moved more than thirteen million viewers and with that, Rising Star and his adoptive mother Queen Unique have become big crowd favorites on 'Friesian Horses'. Yvonne's accident had a major impact on the subscribers of 'Friesian Horses'. She received thousands of heartwarming comments and messages of support. "Really great!", says Yvonne. "I am so incredibly grateful for all those people who have lived with us" The KZbin team around Yvonne Horjus has now expanded considerably, because she can no longer do it all alone. The team now also has its own clothing line and there is merchandise. Yvonne: "In America they already walk around in our hoodies with texts like 'Goedzo' and 'LOL' on it. How cool is that?" 'Friesian Horses' is fast becoming 'big business'. Horjus Stable Yvonne has stopped working for the real estate industry, giving her more time for her family. She is the mother of Rein (6) and Teije (3) and together with partner Bauke the family moved to a farm in Uitwellingerga two years ago. "A great opportunity that came our way somewhat unexpectedly but at the right time," says Yvonne. On the farm near the Prinses Margrietkanaal she now has her own 'Stal Horjus' with horses. A dream has come true and in the quiet surroundings of the farm Yvonne can work on her recovery. In this way, the family can continue to build the future, after a year in which the world was suddenly turned upside down for Yvonne - and her loved ones - and briefly turned into a worrying situation. Johnny is a Dartmoor Pony. Daisy, Glendy, Spidey are Shetland Pony's. Peach and Mario are a mix of Dartmoor and Shetland. Bjarni is an Icelandic Horse. The siren is to warn people for (natural) disasters.

The siren means you have to go inside and close all windows and doors and stop the ventilation system. This because of dangerous substances in the air after a fire for example. The test is done in the whole of the Netherlands at the same time, but is turned on locally in case of real danger. By the way, I have never heard the siren go off for real, and I am 41 years old.

Translations. In Windows 10, 11 Edge. If you want to translate any webpage to your language try first right clicking on the text and it might ask you if you want it translated and then ask you if you want every foreign language translated. If not, just ask Windows, 10, 11 how to do it using the search panel. It's so long since I managed everything translated I've forgotten how I did it myself! Just a general alarm testing once a month, to test the equipment. We have it in Finland as well.

It is tested every month to check if it still works in all the regions. A real alarm would warn for emergencies like large fires, air contamination, etc.
