Mayu (vocalist) can also play rhythm guitar and drums. She's crazy talented. She will be playing more guitar in the future since Saki the guitarist on the right with dark hair recently left the band.

Mayu: scream and clean vocals, occasional rhythm guitar Hazuki: 7-string guitar, vocals (she is an Ibanez artist) Haraguchisan (AKA Hara-chan): bass, vocals Tamu: drums, vocals Former member, Saki: 7-string guitar, vocals (she is a Killer Guitars artist) Mayu is about as tall as the average garden gnome, but contains enough energy to power a medium-sized town for a week. Tamu is an extraordinary drummer who also sings, plays keyboards, guitar, bass and saxophone. This is my favourite Nemophila song. Sadly, since Saki left the band, around Easter this year, this song has had to be rearranged and, IMO, no longer works as well. That's not due to any failure on the part of any band member(s), it's just the nature of the original arrangement as seen here. It just can't work the same with one guitarist. Mayu does play guitar on some live songs but she's not primarily a guitarist and so isn't yet at the level required by this one. Hara-chan is a fine bass player, but the bass solo in the new version is, for me, where the song loses momentum. That's not Hara-chan's fault, it's just the arrangement. But this video is epic and essential viewing for anyone discovering the band. I think it's time you discovered their versatility as well as their metal/metalcore roots. I recommend 'Beautiful Days', 'Odyssey', 'Ama-Te-Ras', 'Hypnosis', 'Change the World' and 'Life' (the original studio live video). They do so much more than what you've seen so far.

A good thing with Nemophila videos are that nearly everything they done is great 🙂.Their anthem is the song Life "NEMOPHILA / Life [Official Live Video]" Is a must to se when it comes to this band 🙂!

They sound so good live. Someone has probably already mentioned this, but one of the guitarists, Saki, left the band. The band has continued on as a 4 piece and sound EPIC!

Great reaction.👍 Mayu has improved her growling over the years... if you listen carefully to the MV for "Dissension" you can hear the layering in her screams, which is also not that big of a deal... in this Oiran's live performance her growling and her voice in general sounds brutal... I've even heard other gigs where her clean vocals haven't been in the best shape, but the strength of her screams hasn't abandoned her.😲 Still, this year Nemophila had to cancel a couple of gigs due to problems with Mayu's voice... she's human too.😉

Love these girls. Fluffy metal at its best. Highly recommend Zen live, Seize the Fate live or MV. My favourite has to be Enten which blends traditional Japanese vocals and instruments with brutal metal. Unfortunately it's audio only which you can find on their KZbin channel. But it's a banger through and through.

Just came across this LIVE performance by Nemophila from a gig in 2022 ( which surprisingly I haven't seen before ) and thought it might be of interest to you .
