I’d go an alpina b3 touring with a proper bespoke lavalina interior for the pan roof alone, but mostly because my f80 comp put me off M cars, the ride and nvh in that thing on Aussie roads and coarse bitumen was nauseating. But alas I ordered an exclusive rs6 perf instead because in these final days of ice, v8 lives matter

did you have the original F80 or the Comp version? There is a lightyear difference in driveavibility. I hated my original but loved the Comp.

@@peterhammer6915I had the comp. I would have thought the first gen car on 19s would have rode better. I put 8k worth of fancy tractive edc shocks on it, but it was the chassis that was the issue, not so much the springs and shocks

I currently own a G80 M3 sedan manual and love it. Love the front end design, its very agressive, and creates a clear distinction between a normal 3 series. My new M3 touring is built and on a boat, cant wait to pick it up when it arrives. 😊

No doubt a bloody great car but I'd park it nose in majority of the time. Personally the F90 M5 is possibly one of the best looking M car around. Give it a few more years and it'll be more affordable seeing that depreciation absolutely murder these cars.

I switched my M340i touring for M3 touring, great daily all rounder, looks mean and cool front and the back.

When I asked my local dealer why I cannot buy the M340i xDrive Touring any more in my market, he said BMW wants to sell more of these. The only factor that is causing me a moment of pause is the price tag. They're asking a lot more over it's competition, but it does appear that it is money well spent.

As a Canadian shopping for an M3, and can't get the touring version, I was wondering why is it that BMW prevents access to its wagons in North America and elsewhere. A possible answer that popped into my head: they're protecting their SUV segment which is huge around here. I wonder if anyone else, including @chasingcars knows of any other? It's such a shame. Otherwise great review, mate :)

An Alpina is totally different car, much softer and very nice for Autobahns. I have driven loads of Alpinas and none feel raw or cars you want to use on a track. It depends what you want.

Gah I wish we had these in Canada. Great review as always, loved the subtle digs at matte paint jobs and crossovers. Curious, did you find the quality in the wagon much different than the sedan? I'm torn between an M340i or M3 as a daily for fun drives and occasional longer 2-3 hour drives into the city. Not many M3s available to test drive.

I drive a Taycan 4S, so not an easy choice. In Finland the M3 is way more expensive so I would probably choose the Taycan again. They are totally different cars though. The m3 is raw, great for track and the Taycan is a blade sharp tool, much softer though. Porsche steering is way better imho.

@@abdullahansari830The M3 Touring holds the record for fastest wagon on Nurburgring. It's definitely much better in terms of performance compared to Audi RS4/6. All cars are great options but BMW has better dynamics

I have witnessed lots of car reviewers are praising this touring about its driving capabilities I guess one needs to drive it to understand it ....because looking at its design its not even close to any Audi wagons both Rs4 and Rs6 .....Rs6 is miles ahead with looks and presence no way anyone with good mind will pick Rs6 over this touring ....you really have to be a bmw die hard fan to buy this car ...I mean just a drifting and more power thats all there is to me according to most reviwers plus most reviewers point it out that it is not as comfortable as Rs6 or Rs4......worse let down for me is its looks ..... I mean the front and the back what is there to admire lets be honest it mite have better driving abilities but design wise its a mess .

It's a shame you can't even test drive an M3. I called every dealership from Brisbane to Port Macquarie and only one had one in stock, but they were not allowing anyone to drive it without purchasing it. How can you buy a $200k car without driving it BMW? More to the point, why sell the last demo vehicle? That demo vehicle will make you more money in the future through sales...

Interesting. Sorry you couldn't test drive it, I agree that's frustrating. The only thing I could add is to say that if your tastes are similar to mine (and I do describe the qualities I like in this review), then I have pretty high confidence that you'd happy with the car.

@@chasingcars you are right, I probably would have loved it as so many reviewers giving it 9 and 10/10 can’t possibly be wrong but I just couldn’t risk it. I ended up getting the new Cayenne S with the twin turbo V8. Drove the current GTS version which has a very similar twin turbo V8 and fell in love.

No company has been battered and bruised more than BMW for the radical changes. They've become a meme in the western world. I like the M3 wagon but the new M2 is just horrendous, IMO.
