The artwork in the first apt. that you weren't "sure about" was "Guernica" by Picasso ... it's SUPPOSED to make you feel uneasy ... it's all about war and devastation.

It would of been nice if Cash would of give us the LOCATION LOL. But, after doing my own homework the St. Mark's Armory gave it away...that is by Nostrand Avenue and Atlantic Avenues. I guess the neighborhood would be considered Bed Stuy not too far from the Barclays Center if anyone cares. Gotta say that the spaces are HUGE but they probably get really COLD in the NYC winters with all that space and limited heating. Carry On...

Yes, as some of the rooms are not even vented. Lots of hot tea, space heaters and blankets in the winter. BRR

These are two of the most interesting and quirky apartments we've seen in a long time. Not cheap but tons of character. I'd like to see the second place staged with a little furniture in it. And that last place, I definitely want to see that one again when it's ready to be shown. Mark is great! Thanks, Cash!

Price isn't terrible though, considering. If I had the budget, I'd rent it in the quickness! (Which in NYC, you find a way to make that price work).

These loft units are the ultimate artist work/live spaces. Tons of room to live and to make art of any industrial sort. Where I live, the few artist spaces like this that still exists are populated by artists who are also MacGyver engineer types who build out home style constructions of shelves or storage as needed. Glad NYC still has spaces available for artists to work and to inhabit.

First apartment: It's sort of a studio with a sleeping loft, but 900 square feet is ample space. Quirky and full of character and in a private location. The same applies to the second one, but it's 1400 square feet with one legal bedroom and some other potential sleeping areas. They're both not cheap, but because of the uniqueness, square footage, location and rent control, these units will rent promptly.

Definitely quirky & not for everyone. But they're not cookie cutter places! With all that room, high ceilings & some imagination.... that 1 loft bed was definitely sturdy but no way would I ever get up there with those jolly green giant stairs lol. For the $$$ you're getting a lot. Maybe basic but of your planning on staying long-term you can change things up. Mark has 1 of those easy-going vibes. Rent it or don't. He knows it'll be snapped up by someone

That second one would be great if you had a home business. That bonus short door room could serve as a storage room for merchandise or a shipping room or whatever. No need to rent an extra space. And it's separate enough from the rest of the home to feel like an office. Along with the character that's a fantastic spot!

The artwork you didn’t care for was a print of “Guernica” by Pablo Picasso. It is considered to be his masterpiece. It was at MoMA for a long time, his wish was that it not be returned to Spain until the country became a democracy.

Not a Picasso fan, eh? That painting you felt unsure about was a print of one of Picasso's most famous paintings, "Guernica". It's meant to depict the horrors of war - and, I suppose, may be a rather interesting choice to hang above one's bed, but to each their own lol

That is ridiculously expensive for what is essentially a junky apartment. You could fit 8 homeless people in the 1,400 square foot one and 6 in the 900 square foot one. There is nowhere for those people to go. This will be rented by more rich people. Paying $3500-$45000 a month is not cheap rent at all. It may be stabilized, as all rent should be, but it is still for the upper income brackets. I like how all the unfinished touches are touted as quirky sell points. Normal properties have those pipes behind sheetrock. They didn't even bother with these stables and worker quarters. Having to walk down long alleyways and upstairs is touted as free from robbers. A yard full of potential rats is now a cat sanctuary. it is nuts what some people go through just to be in NYC which is a kind of nightmare in itself.
