During my deployment in Afghanistan back in 2010-2011. While on patrol, during one of our joint missions with Afghan National Army (ANA) we took enemy contact from the near by ridge. After 45 minutes of grueling firefight, our JTAC forward observer, called in close air support from the gunship, C-130 Slasher. After seeing it shoot, Afghani soldiers were in awe. They honestly thought it was a laser gun. After, during every firefight, they would always ask to call in the airplane with the big laser gun.)))

richard mccann no. To the best of my knowledge, though it’s admittedly limited, the only airborne assets using DU are A-10’s with the 30mm AP shell having a DU penetrator for AT goodness. The fire left by the missiles is just that, fire. It’s just that your viewing it through NV so any light that hits the tubes is being amplified, so even small bits of burning debris look similar to how a flare might look to your naked eye in daylight.

When i was on tour i spent 2 weeks at a time in a trench looking over a base,we entered from the back at night ,we were never seen in daylight all patrols were at night, collecting grids,i had a £5000 scope on my sniper rifle and i could identify US troops thanks to their flag that glows green at night,every time an american jet was in the area i put on my infrared light on my helmet with that hope that it works and i won't be shot to pieces,our cars had these orange infra red stickers,our orders was do not engage if it gives away our platoon position,we had to P.I.D them if we fired and could prove there armed,(if you miss and they get away your position will be mortared)that is what the trench is for, if you want to attack a US or UK army do not think we sleep at night we have paid night shift on full combat readiness , i could see people at night like a light bulb at a mile or 2, so its funny to me when i see taliban attacking at night lol, LOOK HOW EASY WE CAN SEE THEM WHAT ARE THEY THINKING.GOD BLESS UK AND US WE CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON EACH OTHER.

Arma does it. In the editor you can see how every angle, material, etc affects the bullet velocity, penetration and resultant angle of a bullet. The developer (Bohemia Interactive) actually licenses their software to NATO militaries only (it's called VBS - Virtual Battle Studio) for a fuck ton of money per user.

I've seen this in real life. During combat opps in Ubadi,Iraq. We called in cobras on one specific house where we were taking fire from.We marked with PAQ2s. So the Venom is not an attack helicopter, it is a utility helicopter. The “U” in UH-1Y stands for utility. Marine corp HMLA squadrons fly both the UH-1Y Venoms and AH-1Z (“A” for attack). Part of the reason the Venom is so great is it’s versatility, part of that versatility is it’s ability to put lead down range and rockets on target as needed 🇺🇸
