When I was 13 years old i was diagnosed with depression and schizophrenic personality disorder, I never had a good self image, I was always sad and I hated myself, I never saw myself as someone intelligent, pretty or anything good, I thought of myself as sick. That was all I was, sick. When I was 16 I realized I was bisexual, and everything just got worse, I felt different and gross and stupid. A year later, I started watching drag race, and even though I never watched the whole show, Trixie and Katya stuck with me, and I started watching UNHhhh... Thanks to these biological women I really started to see a different side of me, I started wearing make-up and picking more extravagant clothing that made me feel good. I learnt I can make fun of my illnesses and that they never define me. Katya has been an inspiration for my recovery, and I can say that six years later (19) I'm not only better mentally, but I also feel better about myself, and I think these gals really helped. Thank you so much for always putting a smile on my face and helping me get through the hard times.

This topic needs more than one part. They really need to speak up on how the gay community treats each other with its unrealistic expectations and standards.

So true. One of my friends suddenly lost a heap of weight when he wasn’t overweight to begin with. I asked him why and he said “straight skinny is gay fat”. I don’t think he meant it to come across so dark and sad but it did.

I have soul-crushingly low self-esteem and can confirm it stops me from doing basically everything regular people do. 10/10 would not recommend.

Hey, I regularly feel myself as trash, but the thing is, I feel so proud at even the slightest achievements since I'm trash, so it kinda balances out
