I think the mock up motor was a 550 can🤔 😑. It came out of the crawler and i never thought to look at it. Smh. Well the 540 is lighter amd gives less body roll but its a work in progress. I just wanted to see if it would fit...

I realize that this video is a year old but I noticed the sound of "gear lash" so thought I would share a hack to fix pinion gear mesh from my years building R/C helicopters where efficiency is paramount. When mounting motor take a small piece of copy paper folded double thick and run it between the pinion gear and main gear while tightening motor mount. If your gear mesh is proper you should be able to spin out a "crimped" but not torn strip of paper.

@@RCWithPopeye lol my shocks are angled into the turning radius. The stock tires wont even turn at all. these big tires go on with 3d spacers so they are away from shocks and can turn. However they do touch coil a little. Wpl has no bearings only bushings which are stiff. No front druveshaft = dead weight on front end. + drift tires have no traction to push...

Yea bud i was hoping to make it unique, i just used those silver shafts and jb weld to make them longer. 24hrs to cure... then she will be a runner...

I have a mn90 1/12 scale crawler with 540 motor as well.had the same problem with drives shafts but got it to work with few different shafts put together.

A couple of either spring rate adjusters or a heavier rated spring on the heavy side would solve the suspension sag caused by the heavier motor.

Yes i thought of cranking down on passenger side but i may end up using the brackets and putting new holes a liitle further up the rail thus inverting the spring slightly enough to give the front end more rigidity. I just have to keep it low with the shaft angle. I want to get 2 b36 pinion upgrades.. it reduces angle...

There's a math formula for exactly that purpose, but I can't remember it off hand! Lol

These are fully adjustable in the spring is actually pretty stiff it just at this angle it doesn't compress as much with the type of movement that has with it being at an angle at only compresses the spring a few millimeters because it's pushing backwards and up at the same time I can adjust the coils to make them stiffer what's the adjuster screw but I think to actually keep it from twisting they need to be inverted just a little bit that way they can push against the twisting motion instead of just push against the axle

I tried using the angle the same yours and immediately switched back. That angle of shocks would be better used for cantilever set up. And a good cantilever set up can get not only travel and flex,but also weight distribution and counteracting the weight. the battery configuration of the LiPo can't be used to counter act the motors weight either. Using a good ol'nimh cell pack it could be used to counter act the extra weight by building a custom cell configuration.A high punch, high mah cell pack would be great for the 540 brushed. Afterall the longer you can take it crawling is the main goal. Instead of building a track runner,you want a tank! Now a 540 brushless and LiPo just go hand in hand! That would be interesting to see too in these wouldn't it?

Brushless build. I just got a bigger motor for it. 1st pme was too small and not 3s capable 😎😎 im only going to run drift tires on it because if it has traction its just gonna flip over from going too fast. 50 mph scaled = mach 1 lol... seems like it atleast

@@johnbaptiste87 the driveshafts and plastic axle gears. Its very driveable after that not too much power but its good for running around with the 180. Keep in mind since the 180 sits out past the gear case the shaft will rub if the ends are too big

I saw your truck nice ive seen someone run a 370 under hood with short shaft to one of those transmissions. I have a 3d printed one of trans but i used a dromida 35t 370 actually great for the truck size
