So, how does it work compared to max%? Does it just require two playthroughs with both alignments for all the collectables?

for this games 100%, you need 3 different playthroughs to unlock everything, and thats because of a quest line with 3 different outcomes and rewards, and also a pin for all film reels which you can't get in a second play through. Max% on the other hand, is every item that you can get (without any unintended items with glitches) that you can get on a single play through of the game. Hope this helped!
