When I wrap my hair, my edges around my temples are sore come morning. What can I do to manage that?

Erica, it sounds like you may be wrapping/tying your scarf too tight. What kind of scarf do you use?

@@DolceDawn : it's just a basic silk scarf - I fold it into a triangle and tie it. But I see you use what looks like a guy's "du-rag"(could be wrong), and noticed how you make sure everything lays flat. Maybe that's where my error is....

Yeah, the scarf I use looks a lot like a du-rag, but is slightly different design-wise and is thicker. I do make sure that everything lays flat so that my style stays intact, but I also try to make sure I don’t tie it too tight. I’ve done that a few times before and ended up with a headache in the morning. lol Other than that, you may want to try a silk/satin scarf that has a little more give or stretch to it than the one you’re currently using so that it doesn’t end up constricting your edges and leaving them sore. One that may be specifically designed for wrapping your hair.

I always have the problem with my hair falling down while wrapping, i use large duck clips around the edges to hold it then put the durag (u scarf) on, then slide the clips back out so theres no indentations in the morning.

Hey, Carbonet! No, I don’t think wrapping your hair nightly is too much manipulation as long as it’s done with a wide tooth comb. I’ve never had an issue.

😂 Hey, Kishia! Do you double tie your scarf or criss-cross it at all? That should help keep it from slipping off your head. Not too tight, though. Just enough to keep it stationary.
