A leave in conditioner is an absolute must as it brings the hair back to its ideal pH of 4.5 to 5.5. Water should never be the last thing on your hair as it’s pH is 7 and will leave the cuticle open leading to dryness. The best leave in that I have tried on my hair is Design Essentials HCO leave in conditioner. My fine relaxed hair feels strengthened, light and flowy after using it. I was tempted to get the infusium because I am familiar with it from way back in the day, but that Design Essentials HCO leave in felt like it was formulated for my hair! It’s always a nice feeling when you find your holy grail.

Thank you for taking the time out to educate us about hair. Much appreciated!❤ I used Infusium all throughout high school and it left my hair so healthy. I just started using it again in hopes to get my hair back to that health. It works great if used over time. I went on a hunt for it and found a huge bottle at Sally's. Original formula (white bottle)* btw*

Hey, Queen! Another vote for It’s A 10 - yes! And although I haven’t tried their leave-in, I do like Elasta QP’s Mango Butter Moisturizer (which I used to use for my ponytails). 👍🏾

For hydration/nutrition I use Kerastase Nectar Thermique(And will add Moroccan oil styling cream soon), for protein/stregth: Salerm 21 silk protein for when I rollerset as it's a bit heavier, It's a 10 leave in spray which is amazing for detangling after my beloved Mizani D'tangle was discontinued, Kerastase Ciment Thermique, Redken Anti snap(LOVE!!)

Hi Dawn, great video! I have to say that I really like It's a 10, it was very moisturizing and felt good on my hair. I have a very small amount left as my 3 daughters like it as well. Currently I am using the Bamboo and Silk HCO by Design Essentials it's light and seems to add some strength to the hair. I was experiencing breakage and this product helped. (Honorable mention, I also use Aphogee Green Tea which until this video thought of it as a leave in that has heat protection, but its actually a reconstructerizer. Hmmm
@DolceDawn3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Debbie! 👋🏾 Design Essentials gets a lot of love, too. I may have to include them in future vids...🤔 - thanks! And I’m not even surprised about It’s A 10. That is one I definitely would try (maybe still will) if I didn’t have my staples. 👍🏾

I am late but wanted to add my two favorite leave-ins; Joico K-Pak foam leave-in is super light and adds protein. For no protein I use the Elasta QP mango butter which is a bit creamy. Occasionally I will combine the two. Another favorite that I use when I am at the beach to protect from sun and salt is the Ouidad leave-in conditioner moisture lock. Girl she pricey but it is AMAZING when dealing with sun, ocean, heat you name it. She only gets used on beach vacations and actually a little goes a long way.
@DolceDawn3 жыл бұрын
Never late. You’re right on time. 😉 I have been curious about Ouidad and you’re the first one to mention it. So their leave-in vs. beach life: does it help fight frizz and maintain moisture? Do tell, do tell!
@hrhsophiathefirst40603 жыл бұрын
@@DolceDawn It does that very well although they have an anti-frizz and humidity serum that I add for that specifically if I do a braid out and the moisture is life! The issue for me is that is usually the only time I really need that kind of moisture as I do not spend a ton of time dealing with sun and salt these days having left my home in Barbados over 20 years ago. NYC has challenges but that is not one of them so I am able to maintain very manageable hair without a $30 conditioner for 8oz! But on vaca when I am wearing it down and open and letting it do what it do? It is the Bomb.com!

@@DolceDawn i saw it on some past videos and recommendations. But my scalp rejects it because of the Argan oil. It left my scalp really irritable and itchy. It is definitely not a heavy product on the hair. It makes it soft and gives a moisture and shine.
