So glad to hear someone favourably review In Memoriam. I read it in January and struggled to review it in my wrap up for that month. I have to read so many First World War books that I really found a lot of faults with Winn’s book that I don’t think anyone else would 😂 I hope more people pick it up because I think lots of people will like it, and we need more historical gay novels 🥰

Well, I am guilty of not being a history buff. So, I don’t mind when things don’t always line up LOL. I was just in it for the romance.

@@InkandPaperBlog oh yes....been reading a collection of essays and reviews by doris lessing 'time bites, and just started 'the kingdom of characters' by jing tsu about the development of the modern chinese alphabet and engrossed in 'the netenyahus' by cohen, the short stories 'stories from the tenants downstairs' by fofana, and 'caravan of dreams by shah as encouraged by lessing's reviews..i'm having a grand time

I wonder why Greek mythology has been a trend for the last while. I mean, I enjoyed Song of Achilles and everything, but... was this whole thing kicked off by Madeline Miller's books? I don't get it; BUT it still makes more sense than the sudden astronomical rise of Colleen Hoover. 😂😂

I think that there have always been a lot of Greek retellings - but maybe not so literally. A lot of books are the myths reset in different times and places. There are a lot of really good ones trust me. And I agree - good for Colleen Hoover , but why!

Yes it can. I think there is additional depth if you read the first. But it stands on its own very well.
