Welcome to Amity Tracks. This is a channel where we discuss a wide range of music related topics. The focus will be on music from the 1960’s through the 1990’s, but not exclusively. Classic rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, hard rock, jazz, blues, folk, country, soul…all genres are fair game. From time to time we may dabble in other popular culture, such as film, history or sports. But music is primarily what we do here. The focus is on the music and the artists. We hope to encourage an open and dynamic community with fun and informative discussions not only in the videos, but also in the comments section. Please note that, while disagreement and discussion is welcome, no personal attacks or out of bounds comments will be tolerated. We want to be a part of the positive larger vinyl community and other like-minded, music focused communities.

After finding every Neil Young LP through the CD years, somehow I managed to overlook 'Year Of The Horse' and 'Road Rock, V.1'. Thanks for reminding me

Really well done series, thanks. Bought my first real Stereo system in 1980 and one of the first albums I got was Decade, liked it so much I grabbed Rust Never Sleeps. I've been finding great Neil stuff every year since. I am from Ontario too so that probably also helps me relate. Incredible the amount of quality product he has put out.

there is a 4 cd neil collection called "rock n roll cowboy" that is my favorite bootleg by anybody really. the sound quality varies but the material is full of gems. another great one is this solo show he did in 99 in oakland. the audience is very quiet and attentive (he thanks them at one point) and it seems this atmosphere allowed him to really sink into the music and give a stand-out performance. thank you this channel i enjoy it very much.

Great Neil Young series, Ray!! I chuckled when you brought up “Lucky Thirteen” because I remember when he first removed his discography from Spotify (before the infamous issue with Joe Rogen), he left one album on Spotify, and that was “Lucky Thirteen!”

That's funny, and that's so Neil. The only one left is Lucky Thirteen. Maybe because Geffen still had the right or something. Who knows.

I would consider myself a new fan of Neil’s. I’ve always liked a few songs from before, when I was a kid. But recently I started to really go deep into his stuff. So far I’ve heard all three Buffalo Springfield albums, Deja Vu/CSNY, and everything from his debut to Rust Never Sleeps. And I truly love all of it. I’ve listened to Homegrown, Hitchhiker and Chrome Dreams, loved those as well. And a few days ago I finally received the first archives box set, the long box edition on Blu Ray. Truly am blown away by that, the quality of the content is outstanding. These sets are growing more expensive but I feel I’m becoming that big of a fan where theses sets are going to be appreciated.! I need volume 2 next.!

Really enjoyable series! I only got the Citizen Kane Jr CD the other day and love it (the remastered sound is better than on the bootleg) and it made me realise just how funny a song like 'Long May You Run' is. I have the 4 disc bootleg 'Rock 'n' Roll Cowboy' that Paul Williams talks about in his book 'Love To Burn' and it's interesting seeing how many of the tracks on that are being made available now, so I hope the '86 live album comes soon as some of the songs on 'Landing On Water' are really good and will probably be better live.

Agree, that '86 show is awesome. I read somewhere that was on his list for future Archives releases.

Thank you so much for your Neil Young ranking videos. I am a huge Neil fan and have many of his albums on both vinyl and CD starting with his first album original pressing right up to Hitch Hiker and Toast. I love many of his albums but the one I play the most is After The Gold Rush. I never tire of that album. I may be mistaken but did you leave out the Journey Through The Past album? Anyway, you put a lot of effort into the Neil videos and I really appreciate it and you commentary in general. Please keep it coming!

Thanks, I appreciate that. Yeah, I did leave out his soundtrack work, so didn't talk about Journey Through the Past and Dead Man and Paradox and Where the Buffalo Roam.

I’ve got original copies of some of his albums, the debut through to Tonight’s The Night, I’d love to seek out the originals and maybe find a few represses for stuff that’s a little harder to find. I at least would like originals of all the 60’s and 70’s stuff lol.

As your suggestion I listened to two albums. The first being Neil's first album. I thought it was a very good album, but not to my taste-- it sounds very glossy compared to the rougher more distorted Crazy Horse sound I'm used to. The second was Sleeps with Angels. This album came out the summer after I graduated High School and was part of my collection when I first started listening to his music in college. That album is full of great songs. My Heart is like a little soliloquy which sets a mood before running you smack dab into the Prime of Life. I really love the song Blue Eden as a poignantly distorted, earthy blues. Makes me think of something that Jimi could have arranged to fit on Electric Ladyland or Band of Gypsys. Piece of Crap is so true and cathartic. Change Your Mind and Love Train are great songs that lighten the mood while Western Hero is a song that has a lot to say. Love this album, thanks for reminding me about it. Gonna try Ragged Glory and Trans next.

You made it through the labyrinth/archives! The live vinyl albums Way Down in the Rust Bucket and At Carnegie Hall are among my favorites from Neil. I bet you'll be YouTubing about him again soon.
