Poor Kris. He pushed hard, could deliver results and stages time far above any other Citroen drivers in the recent past and even Loeb crashed that car. But of course, he made mistakes. I hope this is not the end of his career.

Thomas Harrison-Lord I hope this isn't the end for him either. He has the talent but it's a shame Citroen was hamfisted at him.

Arthur, my man. You don't win WRC podiums by being a jackass.

Even Loeb said it is really hard to precisely control those cars in certain situations. I really hope he'll be hired to an other team soon, where they're not such pussies, and have a decent car. Whenever he didn't crash or get a puncture or any technical issues, he finished high, often on the podium. But still, i hope he'll take care of himself and his talent.

Such a shame for Kris. I do think that it's a little unfair as everyone who gets in the Citroen seems to either be massively slower than Kris or they crash, even Loeb couldn't keep it on the road. I hope he can get one more chance in a better car next year.
@jw85996 жыл бұрын
Sam Fowler yeah, but even if they are slower, they are able to finish a ralley. And this counts over some stagewins and a DNF.
@SamFowlerRacing6 жыл бұрын
J W True but nobody is going to buy a Citroen because they finished 5th in a rally are they, Citroen need to be winning rally's and championships.
@abelvieira60096 жыл бұрын
Citroen is loosing focus on WRC. To much others racing world chanpionship such WTCC, and WTCR etc... So I think Citroen is not having enough budget for everything and then pilots are "forbiden" to crash... Even when they are working so hard as Kris. It's a pitty.
@christendombaffler6 жыл бұрын
Make mistakes, suffer the consequences. That's how it's always going to be. Thing is though, it's much easier to learn to be safe as a fast driver than it is to be fast as a safe but slow driver. There's a limit to how much you should have to put up with as a racer, and Kris should not be defined by the hunk of junk that is the Citroen. I have far more faith in Kris's ability to bounce back and start doing really well with a more trustworthy team and a more drivable car than in Citroen's ability to stop making terrible cars.
@Antonio-ru9kv6 жыл бұрын
He has talent and pace but too many mistakes cost him place. Hope he will come back.
@minxlabrada6 жыл бұрын
When you look at the wreckage of the C3, it is obvious the safety cage failed. Not sure if every car would have failed that way. But it looked really bad. Honestly just happy he is okay after that. And I would not be surprised if new safety rules for a stronger top impact cage will be implemented.
@forischatz19946 жыл бұрын
I predicted that would be the last year of Kris in Citroen, if he could make it. Yeah he's talented, he's got the pace, he brings the last 5 victories of Citroen. But guys come on. He's 39, he is very inconsistent, and maybe not the driver that you can trust your car. He's been given a lot of chances by Citroen, but he didn't exploit them. So it's time to see Craig Breen in Spain alongside with Sebastien Loeb.

I've seen this coming this year but never thought it would be this in an instant. I feel bad for kris but on citroen's side, this has to be done accordingly. The c3 was just not the proper machine to do rally i believe. Just like when they tried to bring the mini cooper with the likes of sordo, its cool to see but it cant deliver the performance they want. The c3 seems too hard to drive, even loeb said it. I think it has to do with the c3 and not because of kris. Not to annoy anyone reading this but moving to toyota might give us more yaris crashes.

Citroen should build a safe car first. If not even Loeb can drive it safely who can then? No driver was capable of driving this car competitively without crashing. Only Meeke managed at occasions. The new car never seemed comfortable and pacy. Should Meeke move to another top tier WRC team, like Toyota, he is going to be the winner of this deal.

@shona55126 жыл бұрын
Mark Mark Kris is fucking fast too, he pushes every car to the absolute limit, which is why he crashes so often. Colin won often because he had the added benefit of having one of the fastest cars of the season, but he had his fair share of accidents too, they didn't call him Colin McCrash for no reason. Kris is the exact embodiment of Colin, if you're not first, you're last trying.
@markmark52696 жыл бұрын
McRae wrecked tens of cars, and got results, lots of results, and a World Championship. He went faster after BIG accidents. Comparing results to Meeke's is ridiculous. Meeke's career is now over, the results, or rather lack of them, stand, including being fired twice. In comparison, Teams lined up to get McRae. You guys seem to think Team Managers are idiots.

He may get a contract in NASCAR - looks like just the sport for him. Jokes aside, the french had a co-driver die on them in the recent past and team funerals are not so uplifting. @BlueSkyCrystals6 жыл бұрын
Crashing even when not in contention for victory, when he should be easing off and collecting points for himself and the team, is why he was fired. He has never learned to see the bigger picture. He and Latvala are the most frustrating drivers because the results don’t match their immense speed.
@BicyclesMayUseFullLane6 жыл бұрын
He was their lead driver, whose job was to push the envelope and win rallies. You don't win the series by only collecting bottom points.
@BlueSkyCrystals6 жыл бұрын
Mingwei Zhang They were never going to win anything but the occasional rally in that car. Kris was right to take risks when battling for victory, but when he was not in that fight, he was still taking risks instead of getting points for his team.
