Which is actually dumb, because it's ONLY on youtube. The service we have to pay money for doesn't cover it, for some reason. The WRC has gone so far downhill, and at least here in North America, isn't very accessable.
@CerberusTenshi11 ай бұрын
@@guysmcfellas615 That's more to do with the US only caring about NASCAR. Look how long it took for F1 to break into the US. Le Mans was covered in the US for the first time last year on a broader spectrum, but only because there was a modified NASCAR car entered. Rally has been practically invisible to US motorsports viewers. No-one cared so media stations also didn't care. So before you blame the WRC, blame your TV stations.
@guysmcfellas61511 ай бұрын
@@CerberusTenshi WRC *had* a good subscription program until several months ago when they made the switch without telling anyone. All of a sudden none of my WRC+ apps worked, and I had to use Rally TV, which doesn't even have an app for smart TVs, and for whatever reason, won't let me cast from my phone to my TV. Navigating Rally TV to rewatch stages (I can't get up at 1am to watch the first stages here) is an absolute mess, and I have to scroll through every other video to find where I left off... Add on many changes to the championship that a lot of people see as negative, (the new scoring is kind of dumb. Points should come at the end of the rally) including some really stupid penalty-related decisions in the past year, and I would say that the WRC and FIA are just as much to blame.

yes, for instance imagine there is 18 stages in total, Tanak wins 4 out of these 18 stages (when you have the best time on a special stage it's called a scratch), and then there's Ogier who won none of the stages but was really consistent in all stages, like 2nd or 3rd everytime; and Tanak who did not do better than 5th in the remaining stages. Then Ogier would have the overall fastest time at the end of the rally and win. Pretty logical if you think about it : )

@@cyoyoo if you are consistent and have the least amount of total time as the sum of all the stages you should win the weekend, that would be fair. With this point system you could be 1 minute ahead (by being consistent) of the driver in second place after Saturday and Sunday. Start out as an officinal! All events need people as road closers, time controls, start controls, finish controls, spectator marshals and more, and it is a great way to get into it, and start learning. Also, just join a car club which is into rallying, and go along to meetings and stuff. The people you really want to be talking to are those older ones, who have been around it for a longgg time.

So if i understand correctly basically WRC consinsts of multiple "Events" over the year which consist of multiple "Stages". You get points for being under the top 10 fastest at a stage, under the top 7 fastest at the end of the last day and under the top 5 fastest at the last stage. All points of every event get added up and the team with the most points wins. Is this correct? Two questions: Are the sunday points for being under the top 7 fastest overall at the end of sunday or for the top 7 fastest on that day? And do all Events consist of the same kind of stages / do all events have special and super special stages?
@wrc11 ай бұрын
Hi! In terms of the points allocation, you are correct. Up to 18 points are awarded based on the rally standings on Saturday evening; seven points based the fastest cumulative times over Sunday's stages only, and a further five for the Wolf Power Stage. But! In order to get their Saturday points, they must still finish the rally. So, even if a crew is well down the leaderboard after a problem early in the rally, they could still earn seven points by being fastest over the course of Sunday, plus whatever they can take from the Wolf Power Stage. Every rally has stages unique in nature, from snow-covered roads in Sweden to slow and rocky terrain in Kenya. Itineraries are usually quite similar, although some rallies may have slightly more stages than others. Not every rally has a super special stage, but those that do typically take place immediately after the ceremonial start on Thursday evenings
