Welcome to my KZbin channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content.
I just finished restoring a 1963 Corvette Split Window and I am starting another split window build but this time its a race car build. I will be making videos every Friday. I will be making videos on my 1963 Corvette Split Window, my dad's 1965 Corvette, my race car split window build, my friends 1960 Corvette, and other projects that I find along the way. Let me know what you think about the video. Enjoy!!
If you are interested in an official MYM hat or if you have any questions please send me an email to midyearmitch@gmail.com.
Check out my Instagram for some behind the scenes pics of my builds.

I am stunned by the level of detail that went into this build. As much as I love that this car is back on the road, I am surprised that someone was willing to invest the $$ to build this car from this state. So much labor and very expensive parts... Very nicely done!

1) you are doing fiberglass work in short pants and a short sleeve shirt... DAMN!!! iron man 2) great video, really done well. probably could slow down by 10% but I understand the speed to hold attention on a pin head. 3) I didn't know they produce wider fenders that look so freaking good.. 4) that is going to be a great ride when it's completed and a hell of a lot of fun building it looking forward to the next episode

@@MidYearMitch Of all the car videos I watch, this one is one of the most impressive. You win the Mean Street award for the TOP fiberglass repairs/ mods on a classic car award for the year. I have done many fiberglass repairs in the past ( boats, semi trucks, race cars etc) and I know the work ( and suffering) involved. I get the feeling you will be ready for a big shop and some helpers ( besides the helpful lady you have) pretty soon. Overhead cranes , forklift , car lift , lots of room can make a huge difference in getting that $hit done without killing yourself.

Mitch I have to applaud you. Great job on saving another midsixtes vette. Have to ask you though, the bird cage, aren't those reproduced? If so I would think that would be more cost effective for the customer. I could see where you would want to save money if it was your own project. But even so that was a bunch of work. ,👍

Nice work even though I'm really surprised repop body parts are made for these. More Mustangs were sold in the first 1 1/2 years than Corvettes in the first 20 so I'm shocked there's enough market for it. Anywho, nice looking project!

Hey i just started on a 66 vette that was left to me from my late father, trying to fit the doors and it seems they are tipped inward at the bottom, ive added shims at the bottom hinge and the lower door sits inside the rear rocker at the bottom and slightly out at the top, is there anyway to tip the door out a bit or am i just able to do what can be done with shims? I think i pulled a 1/2 thick stack of shims out that appeared to be factory, but they are just not enough

Mitch I'm new to your channel so willing to ask a silly question. Why? I mean I've been looking at buying a full body for a mid-year they are not that expensive especially one in fiberglass or under 20,000 for carbon fiber. Has to be just as expensive doing what you are doing buying some parts and repairing others? I been missing my split window for 45 years

The Corvette name for it is a birdcage because it resembles a birdcage. It is technically the body framework or body structure. Whatever name you want to call it. I made a video explaining the meaning behind the name.
