I really feel for Jerry Lawler, since losing his father at a young age, losing a son (Brian, aka Grandmaster Sexay), having a heart attack and a major stroke are things I'd never wish on anyone. ☹️ Still, his resilience and good humour in spite of all that really does make him a King in my book. 🙂

I'm only 42 so I missed his heyday in Memphis, but his feud with Bret Hart was a huge part of my childhood. Lawler was so good on the mic and could tell an incredible story in his matches and make things believable. I genuinely thought those two hated each other unlike many other feuds. Also him and JR were the soundtrack to the best period in WWF history. Much respect for the King, glad to see him doing pretty well after his stroke. 🙏🏻👑

Great to see the King up and at em. Very inspirational. My mother had a stroke about 2 years ago. Thankfully it didnt take her speech and it didnt cause any issues with her speech or face. But her left side is numb. And she's constantly confused and in a haze and lashes out emotionally. She cant seem to regulate. She can still move her left side, but I dont know If shell ever come back. Even before the stroke, she had a defeatist attitude. And now it's just worst. It's like having a child in the home again now.

If I could sit down and talk for ten minutes with any living wrestler, Jerry Lawler would be on my short list. Not only was he a great worker with decades of stories, he is also one of the best examples of a wrestler who could work as a great face and as a great heel. Many wrestlers could work one very well, but Jerry could do both seemingly effortlessly.
