A thin disk on an angle grinder, cut between the bolt and the mount, easy quick less fuss😊

Cut the bolt itself?

Dealing with this now on a friends accord , bought a new bolt so I’m thinking just cut it on either side and be done with it

Funny how I'm seeing this now. I just did this and I came to about the same way of tackling it. I cut the outer bushing in half and removed that then cut the inner one in half til I got to the bolt threads then heat that bushing and held it with a locking pliar and impact the bolt out. All my cutting was done with a dremel. Sometimes gotta use only what you have.

I have new bolts for mine so should I just cut through both ends of it instead of using your method?
@keizomatsuzaki8 ай бұрын
Metal tapping screws to fix the inner and outer rings. Then, turn the bolts to loose. Works?

Great video, sir. Can I do this same method with my Pontiac g3 20210? I am changing the front shocks and control arms cause it's used and rusted. The bolt is stuck on both arms in this same bushing and I have tried impact gun, breaker bar, penetrating oil and heat. Will this method help? I am a novice mechanic.

What blade did you cut this with.

Use a ballpoint press and press the bolt out, you’ll save the bolt that way.

How about using a air hammer to remove the bolt?

How long did it take you to remove this screw? cutting the swing arm was unnecessary. I would cut the screw, which is cheap.

You can't find the suspension bolts in local hardware stores. You have to go to the dealers and sometimes they don't have them in stock so so you have to wait a day or two. That is why many mechanics try to save the bolts if they can

that is NOT a simple job. that's nightmare fuel. without a lift that job is 100% a major PITA. would it kill the factor to put some anti-seize copper lube on those bolts?
@jerrycallo3 ай бұрын
Or stainless sleeves, sure they cost more, but look at all the labor cost with getting seized parts loose.

You could have sawzalled the bolt off and replaced just that and the bushing, instead you're billing the customer for a new control arm and all that time saving a $15 bolt. Congratulations.
