I love every Foley / Undertaker storyline. They were just meant to battle each other. Taker was the (nearly) unstoppable force, until Mankind showed up and you could feel some sense of danger for the Undertaker for the first time. Finally someone who just wont stop, who could take all the beatings and JUST WONT STOP. Who throws all the blood, the tools, the fire, the broken glass at Taker. And only stops when he is an unconscious bloody pulp with a broken tooth sticking out of his nose,. aka their HIAT match.

The Taker/Mankind match here is ridiculously underrated. I think it's my favorite non HiaC encounter between the two of these guys, just beating out the Boiler Room Brawl. Just a completely wild brawl with so many great high spots and tons of physicality. The Bret/Austin match is pretty good too, but it's (somewhat rightly) overshadowed by their previous encounters. I think the matched served its purpose pretty well, though, which was to keep fans interested in their rivalry and set up Austin's ultimate vengeance in a big payoff. It's such a shame we never got that payoff.

An extremely 1997 PPV. You got some really good stuff with the Hart Foundation (including cheeky Brian Pillman), Austin being a badass as usual and an important step on the long road to Kane's debut. But then you also got pre-nation Rock, Flash Funk and Rockabilly.
@lutherheggs4513 жыл бұрын
And atleast it was before the smarks cried every single time Austin "buried" someone on his rise. Unlike now where it doesn't matter who it is, the smarks instantly start crying about "burying" people the instant they lose.

Lots of good memories watching this show and still to this day, one of my favourite In Your House show which featured an excellent first world title defense for The Undertaker against Mankind, Bret Hart Vs Steve Austin was good but their Wrestlemania match was much better but I understand it was hard to top that. Undertaker burning Paul Bearer's face would kick off the epic storyline and slow build up for the debut of Kane

If it wasn't for Bret I don't know if Austin would have had the amazing career he went on to have. In a time where most of the big time superstars in the WWF did not want to Help out a Up and Comer like Austin, Bret did. Then bret pretty much demanded to put Steve over by doing the double heel turn and having him pass out in the sharpshooter And refusing to tap which gave Austin his reputation. And then he gave Austin a clean title win over him later on so in my opinion he helped make stone cold and he did so very unselfishly.
@dowhatiwantc7637 Жыл бұрын
Bret also helped with the rock as they wanted him to take the IC title as apparently Shawn Michaels didn’t like both of them and wanted kill two birds with one stone. Bret with IC title out of main event and wwf champ contention. Also removing the rock from any momentum he was building.
