The WWF rivalry between Triple H and Mankind / Cactus Jack / Mick Foley was incredibly important when discussing the rise of both superstars in the company. Beginning their feud at the 1997 King of the Ring and going all the way to WrestleMania 2000, Foley and Helmsley climbed the WWF together by having some exciting matches on TV and Pay Per View.
The first PPV match between Helmsley and Mankind took place at the King of The Ring in 1997 and immediately following this show, the two superstars would work against eachother in the 2 WWF PPVs that followed (Canadian Stampede and Summerslam). The Triple H vs Mankind feud of 1997 would lead to Cactus Jack making his WWF debut, an alter-ego of Mick Foley who was considered even more dangerous than Mankind. In 1999, the feud was re-ignited when Hunter joined Vince McMahon's Corporation while guys like Mankind and The Rock done battle with the faction. It all came to a head in early 2000 when Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack) faced Triple H in 2 PPV matches, a no DQ match at the 2000 Royal Rumble, and a Hell in a Cell match at No Way Out. This video looks at the entire rivalry from start to end.

At Summerslamm 1997, when Mick ripped his shirt it was not to reveal his Cactus Jack singlet, but to expose a heart on his chest as a reference to Dude Love. The heart on his chest had washed of due to sweat and the rubbing of the fabric. If you look carefully you can see a red stain mark on Mick'c chest. That and he also did the Dude Love dance (or at least tried).

When you think of the classic rivalries in wrestling, you have to include Triple H vs Mick Foley, it's one of the most legendary wars of all time that spilled bucket loads of blood. It did wonders for both of their careers and character development. It showed how tough Triple H really was and how vicious Mick Foley could get regardless of what persona he was portraying. They had lots of great matches on TV and ppv but their street fight at the Royal Rumble in 00 was their absolute best ever. In my honest opinion, Foley helped put Triple H on the map as the top heel in the the business while Triple H did an excellent job in showing fear towards a true hardcore legend and putting him over as this dangerous maniac Excellent video as always and keep up the good work

Flair may be known as the measuring stick, but Mick has served a vital and very similar role in the WWF. Even though he's been on the losing end of many of his rivalries which does admittedly suck, you don't squash Mick Foley. You *survive* him. Main-eventers like Undertaker, Edge, Randy Orton and HHH have all been on the receiving end of the Hardcore legend, and their bodies paid the price though they came out on top.

One of the best rivalries of all time, an example of opposites attracting and creating magic. It's interesting how they had little to do with eachother in 1998, despite the fact HHH's DX went huge and turned him babyface, while Foley went heel for a lot of the year, so they could have faced eachother but with a totally different dynamic. Also weird is the fact that Foley's first title win had HHH in the ring celebrating with him and hoisting Foley up on his shoulders with the rest of DX. It's quite a sight in relation to their usual rivalry.

Probably my favorite feud after Austin/Rock during the Attitude Era. The story-telling was on point, great promos and the matches were excellent.

Channel 4 started showing Sunday night heat in Ireland in late 1999. They also started showing some free ppv's. Royal rumble 2000 was the 1st ppv I ever saw. Didn't know anything about the hardy boyz, table matches, bubble wrap bikini's or street fights. I was 16 and stayed up until 4 a.m to watch it with my older brother. We were blown away with how awesome it was. Not just the wrestling but the stories being told. From that night on Foley has always been my favourite wrestler. Stone cold and the rock were cool but Foley always had so much more depth. Like your favourite book everytime you read it you discover something new and profound. I didn't know it at the time until my older brother started talking about him, that that was the same cactus jack we used to watch in WCW on ITV years earlier when he feuded with Big Van Vader and went missing as a homeless man. Thanks for bringing all those great memories back wrestling bio's your channel is one I always look forward to clicking on. Keep up the good work.

Cactus Jack was absolutely insane! Great vid... I'll, again, humbly request a look into the Mick Foley & Terry Funk rivalry which included one of the best matches I've ever seen, which I'm pretty sure was on RAW billed as Mick Foley v Chainsaw Charlie.
