Angle vs HBK is top 5 WM match imo, Orton vs Undertaker was good and while the 2 main events didn't meet expectations, they did their job in making Cena and Batista stars. To me there is two versions of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Version 1 is from 2002-2005 and Version 2 is 2005-2008. WrestleMaina 21 is the end of Version 1. To me the reason why this show works is it shows the future of the company. Rey Mysterio beats Eddie Guerrero and goes on to become a multiple time World Champion in the coming years, John Cena becomes the face of the whole company and moves to Raw in 2005, Batista becomes the second biggest baby face in the company and would go on to find even bigger success in Hollywood (mainly as Drax The Destroyer), Edge would go on to become one the the greatest heels of all time and would win multiple world titles and to me behind Cena is the face of the Ruthless Aggression Era. This show proves you can sell a show on good wrestling, good stories and rising stars and not part timers. The Batista vs Triple H build was excellent. Bayley and Sasha Banks had a similar build and it was also outstanding but I wish they dragged it out until WrestleMaina 37 and saved the Bianca vs Banks match for SummerSlam

This will always be my most favorite WrestleMania of all time! For reasons.. The first ever Money in the Bank Match, matches like Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio and Undertaker vs. Randy Orton were notably good matches, Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle put on the match of the night, Stone Cold on Piper's Pit, and finally seeing John Cena and Batista earn their way to the top becoming the faces of the company.

If I remember correctly that Orton quote isn’t for the Mania 21 match. In the Broken Skulls session Orton says the match was edited down and took out a lot of his offense. So I’m sure it was a Tuesday taping of Smackdown that Taker did that on.

I had basic cable back during this time. Channel 1 was the PPV channel that would come in all scrambled and you couldn't see anything. This night though you could hear the audio so I sat next to my TV like it was a radio listening to the entire show unfold and I lost my shit at 11 years old when I heard both Batista and John Cena had won their matches and the titles. In my opinion There is 2 parts of ruthless agression. Summerslam 2002 to Wrestlemania 21. And the 2nd part is I guess backlash 2005 to Wrestle mania 24. 2002-2005 was such a difference than mid-2005 to 2008. 2002 to 2005 was like the Brock lesnar,Kurt angle,Triple h,Shawn micehals. 2005 to 2008. Taker,Edge,Cena,Baustia. The period I pefer is 2005 to 2008
