2005 is damn good. 2016 was fresh. 2017 and 2018 was so monotonous. 2019 again fresh. 2020 was so forgettable. Other than Reigns vs McIntyre, none of it seemed legit. Actually 17 was just a part-timers vacation and 18 was so forgettable. 16 felt like two brands with different identities colliding. In 19, although RAW and SD were eventually pieces of the same cloth, NXT was a completely different game.

Randy Orton didn't even wanna do the coffin burn stunt because he knew it could go horribly wrong in seconds. He accidentally covered his boots in gasoline and nearly lit it on fire. The fire department in Houston Texas and the owners of the arena (idk if it was still the Compaq Center or if it was changed to the Toyota Center by that match) hated it because there was smoke damage to the ceiling.

This was real Raw vs Smackdown feud. Tazz was right even though SD put better shows with classic matches on weekly basis and fans always loved SD. But the management puts always Raw over. In this match, fans were solidly behind SD, even though JBL and Orton were heels, they were cheered too. Tazz has every right too say those, whatever he said. And I found it right.

I remember watching the parking lot brawl between Smackdown and RAW back in the day and it got me hooked. Aside from 2005, every other Smackdown VS. RAW Survivor Series PPV was mediocre at best (apart from the inclusion of NXT in 2019 which I only liked because NXT was there). Nowadays, Survivor Series is just a tagline for WWE to shill its "one night of the year when Smackdown and RAW collide" stuff. It's not even Survivor Series anymore, it's just Bragging Rights 2.0. This is the greatest Raw vs Smackdown battle ever. Both brands had top star power and buildup was incredible. What made this encounter special was the fact that it was never done before. We had cross brand matches before, but never used as part of the storyline. Notice I said storyline? Not a random 10-man tag cause it’s Survivor Series. Smackdown had a legit beef with being embarrassed at Homecoming when Bischoff turned the lights out on them. Plus we didn’t have so many drafts at this point so guys who been faithful members of their brand like Rey Mysterio, Kane, JBL & HBK felt like true representatives.
