I'm really amazed how much Brock improved in the past year at mic speaking. He spent so many years as a quiet monster heel, yet NOW, for some inexplicable reason, he's cutting the most hilarious promos ON HIS OWN and has matches that people are still talking about (then again, he lifted the ring with a tractor, something no wrestler has EVER done.) I'm just in awe at how well rounded Brock has become even though he's at an age where he should be retired by now.

I think it's simply a matter of WWE stopping the micromanaging of Brock and letting him be himself...It's telling when a wrestler like Brock is more entertaining as himself in the UFC then as an entertainer in the WWE...That obviously changed when he came back but that's because, like I said, they just got out of his way.

5:16 It was 100% supposed to be a reference to their standing as Yakuza members. The gossip of the time said that Tajiri was going to be pushed as a “mob boss” style leader with Akio & Sakoda as his henchmen, but that he had to talk WWE out of it for fear of upsetting the real Yakuza. So “Kyo Dai” (the would-be stable) never really went anywhere, outside of their name being used for Akio & Sakoda’s tag matches (IIRC).

@3ampremiere7822 жыл бұрын
Few things I liked about this era of wrestling (smackdown especially) 1. Ring psychology. People had there style they wrestled in which was fitting to their size and worked over a body part to take their open down (usually chopping the leg down) 2. The effects of prior matches mattered and played a role. Nothing worse to me than a hell in a cell match with big spots and the next night everyone is wrestling like nothing happened And 3) FINISHERS ENDED A MATCH. I can say enough how tired of every match today needing 3+ finishers.. that with everything earlier makes wrestling feel very watered down for me now
@denniswilliams65192 жыл бұрын
Ah yes. The era where finishers were finishers. Like Undertaker kicking out of the F-5 didn't happen and Kurt & Brock constantly spamming finishers on each other in all their matches also didn't happen. Hell John Cena vs. Kurt Angle had Kurt kick out of an FU and a gold medal shot to the face. There was a stupid amount of false finishes in this era.

Second, AAAAAAAHHHHHHH JESUS, that fall Benoit took! You can see Albert didn’t mean it, he slipped on the chair behind him and lost balance. Cool little story Brian: I got into wrestling in my pre teens-early teens like you did (I was 11 or 12) and I went feet first into it, I loved it, the ruthless aggression era of 07 when I got into it was exciting and I needed to see as much as I could. My mom bought me SVR 08 and I watched every Monday night raw, Tuesday night ECW, Thursday night TNA, and Friday night smackdown. One day when I was 14 in 09 my mom took me to Walmart and while looking through the dvd section I found four DVDs that would become very sentimental to me and I still own to this day. It was summerslam 2003, unforgiven 2003, No Mercy 2003 (this very review) and Survivor Series 2003. Weird enough they just happened to go in order like that but I loved them and 03 definitely seemed like an exciting time.
