@@shadow_strike9956 You're forgetting the most important name: The Undertaker. If it wasn't for Mick Foley, you could argue Undertaker would not be the legend he became, nor would he be considered the "greatest gimmick". He was just coming off his only watchable WrestleMania match against Diesel when Foley debuted the night after WM12. Before this, he spent years in terrible matches versus Harvey's Whippleman's monsters and Ted Dibiase's stable of "bought" wrestlers. It wasn't until Survivor Series 1996 that Undertaker debuted his new look, without the big purple gloves and the magical urn, which is the gimmick that would not have gone over in the post-NWO/Attitude Era world of wrestling. Without those brutal and violent matches throughout 1996 and continuing into 1998, where would The Undertaker be today?

Before No Way Out, Mick Foley did a sit down interview for "60 Minutes." As he sat next to his wife, he said he was retiring because his body was breaking down & No Way Out was the final match of his career. So I remember being just gutted, leading up to & as I watched the ppv because I was a big FoF (fan of Foley 😅 ). I have always thought it was awkward, the way that played out. I mean, sure, most wrestling fans at the time probably didn't also watch 60 Minutes, but it seemed like something was taken from the match. Already knowing Foley was gonna lose, going into the ppv.

13:00 glad someone finally said it. TLC was innovative at the time, and yes it was breathtaking to start with, but it ended up exhausting crowds and making them more and more accustomed to the hardc0re prop-based violence, to the detriment of regular old graps.
