I love me some 2 Cold Scorpio but with that said he was terrible at selling anything, couldn't sell nothing, but yes your right, pulled off some amazing moves. He did lack an ability to make it appear real tho, but had an amazing ability to be literally completely gased and still pull of moves safely. I've seen him pull of the 450 completely gassed and still is safe and amazing. Which logically shows a sign of respect for his opponent it doesn't matter if he tired, still puts everything into it.

@MrBeardsley Жыл бұрын
More like “less awful.” ‘93 was bad because they didn’t do much with him beyond “here’s Sting’s pal from England.” ‘98 was worse because not only were his addictions taking a major physical toll (he was turning purple and getting blown up like three minutes into his matches) but he also got the back injury that sent him even deeper into the drugs that eventually killed him.

The Big Gold belt was renamed the WCW International World Heavyweight Title following the NWA pullout. "WCW International" was a (laughably) fictitious governing body and division of WCW who declared the Big Gold their World Title - especially since the title had been regularly defended in Japan. This was very briefly declared on an episode or two of WCW programming and in Apter mags.
@MrBeardsley Жыл бұрын
I was watching WCW during this period, and they never really mentioned this on TV so it confused the hell out of me as a kid. Commentary pretty much always just called it “the International title,” and even though I was only 11 or 12 I was like “Wait, aren’t World titles and International titles the same thing?” My dad jokingly said “only world titles can be defended in the ocean, you have to be on land for international titles” and I actually believed him for like two minutes.
@havencircle Жыл бұрын
@@MrBeardsley WCW programming didn't explain it well, but it was explained at least a couple of times. They didn't do a very good job of getting over that WCW International was a subsidiary (that was never mentioned before or since). @@havencircleThe Flair vs . Rude match at Fall Brawl was originally promoted as being for the NWA World Title. But in the ensuing weeks in the buildup the NWA name quietly disappeared from the championship and it was referred to as just the World heavyweight title and the belt itself as the gold belt. A few weeks after Rude's victory, it was announced that WCW didn't recognize it as a world title anymore and the return match at Halloween Havoc would just be for the gold belt. No explanation was given for this other than Rude and Jesse Ventura claiming that WCW had been against him from the moment he entered the company. This lasted for maybe about 2 weeks though, as at the PPV it was announced that the WCW International Board recognized the gold belt as a world title so the match would once again be for a world title. Then as time went on they started to consistently describe it as the International World Title. The Apter Mags never officially recognized it, not even as just the "WCW International title". They'd mention it once in a while here or there, but their stance was that WCW having two world champions caused confusion and they wanted to keep things sane with one world champion in each promotion.
