Thank you for this video. As a former Sports Architect in the US, I have taken great interest in the future of the Racecourse Grounds. I have generated several designs for what the stadium could become in the future. Nothing appropriate to an upper league stadium can be realized without reclaiming the Student Flats and adjacent Car Park. This land must be purchased by the club if they want to stay at this location long into the future. It's a sad state, but we must have hope that the University will negotiate in good faith for the future of the community.

Fingers crossed that one day the club has the land rightfully returned to them, albeit at a price.

I was there from Australia in July and called in to check it out .. bit depressing to say the least .. to be fair , success on the pitch has left the infrastructure development way behind. There hasn't been enough money generated in the short time Rob and Ryan have been in charge to keep up . Everyone will have to be patient, the Kop development will help plenty, it's going to be interesting going forward to see how things pan out .. good luck everyone who has contributed to this amazing project ynwa

Yeah it can look a bit scruffy in parts. Did you visit specifically to see Wrexham?
@67skins75Ай бұрын
You need to send the part about the car park and rusting fence to Rob, Ryan and Ker. Get the drunk guy from the bar scene (Shawn?) in WTW to do it. He's a painter. I think the real decision to be made is: Is having the 3rd oldest stadium in the world really that important to the town? Trying to shoehorn a rebuilt stadium onto the existing footprint is probably more expensive that building somewhere else.

Crazy is a polite term for it. I get holding off on major reno until the issue of that student apartment building is resolved. However stuff like a fresh coat of paint and upgrading the players entrance can and should be done now! Have said it before doing a deal with the university and getting ownership of that building and land back should be job one for Wrexham FC management!

@@WrexhamAFCfanzone Seem like a waste of what looks like a decent building. Maybe make it the new Wrexham FC offices, media office, and perhaps the store as well as maybe accommodations for visiting teams or other guests of the club? Maybe you are right however take a wrecking ball to the place and plan the stadium upgrade from barren land rather then around that building.

This is a great video. I have faith that Ryan and Rob will bring in the right folks to help sort out the Cae Ras (just gotta look at the CEO they brought in). The one thing that I don't want to see happen is a Kenilworth Lane 2.0, as it were and have Wrexham AFC to suddenly get promoted up to the EPL, find out the Cae Ras isn't gonna do, and then spend the entire summer in a mad dash to bring the ground up to snuff. Anyhow, keep up the great content and hello from San José, California =)

It appears the space between the flats to the back of the Lager Stand is 20-25 feet. Does that sound correct?

It is very narrow, I have some news on it later, hopefully can get it edited in time.

Slightly off topic. I had to buy a new printer recently. I went to our local office supply store to see my options. I got very excited when I pointed and exclaimed “there’s the contract printer!” The young man helping me had no idea what I was talking about. I bought it with a big smile!

Pride in our appearance should really start inside the ground - the stands need cleaning & painting, the seats need replacing - we seem to have all colours except red! Plus good luck trying to find your seat in some parts of the tech end, seats can have all sorts of numbers on them! As you say, there is plenty that needs doing around the ground's exterior. Painting the fences - including the bare OSB panels along Crispen Lane This would make for a great mural or could apply to put advertising on them - Aviation, Welcome To Wrexham, Stōk, Four Walls, or even, God forbid, Betty Buzz!😂
@WrexhamAFCfanzone2 ай бұрын
Hahaha, You're right about the seats! Liam Stokes Massey could cover those panels but some of them are falling apart.

I haven't been, but surely it can be better than Old Trafford, where they have to come and repair seats before the match while the fans are coming in.

It's a bit pointless complaining about stuff that can't be changed much even in a long time. It's not RoRy's fault, they've only been at the helm for three years, and have only been in proper league footy for just over a year. It could've all gone badly in the national league, and they'd be haemmoraging money by now. At least they've managed to climb twice, are firmly putting their own stamp on the club whilst celebrating the local and national Welsh heritage. As someone in West Wales (the old name for Cornwall), I think they're doing a great job of laying the foundations from which they'll hopefully be able to take the club to even greater heights, I'd be happy if they manage to climb high enough to play Liverpool and the lesser teams in the PL, although there's a good chance they'll get to play 115FC sooner than later (unless they get promoted and 115FC get booted to the national league).

With the plans of becoming a EPL team they will need to expand or relocate to another area to ensure the financial viability of the team both with attracting top tier talent and since you wouldn’t see Liverpool or Man U in a place like this as historic as it is

Most of the student flats are fine it's just the absolutely stupid last one, it's so close to the stand, that was an absolutely terrible design & it's 100% the councils fault, they could have rejected just that last one & added ore flats the other side of the development.

Haha! Sorry, what is this video about? Who is it for? Wrecsam plays in League One. Where were they before November 2020? Sure, some things need some attention but I’m guessing your grievances are low on the “To Do” list. Ryan bought the team with Rob for £2-2.5 million, but they have also lost £10 million trying to make the team better. Again, what is the video for and who is it for?
@WrexhamAFCfanzone2 ай бұрын
No grievances, just stating what was there when filming. They haven't lost ten million btw, it was loaned to the club who are paying it back. If they backed out now they'd both make a tidy profit. They also make an absolute fortune on welcome to Wrexham, the club sees none of it. So its not quite they lost 10 mil at all.

thanks for this! really appreciate the ground level, real life look at an elevating FC ❤🤍🔝 you're right, they might have to chip away partially on those student flats (the "L" shape part thats sticking out) just so that they can build a stronger foundation for the stands as they build up to larger stands with more seats. those flats may also be a blessing in disguise though-- assuming that the building closest to the stadium can be sold to the FC, they can convert those into FC offices and other facilities, everything else thats on the ground level surrounding the stadium (minus The Turf of course) will have to go-- parking, bins, etc. someone suggested that the Uni / City Council should put up a parking garage instead of maintaining open parking-- which is much better and more efficient as it can host more parking spaces with a smaller footprint. and thats gonna be extra beneficial because when Game Day happens, those parking garages will be packed .
@WrexhamAFCfanzone2 ай бұрын
I don't think parking will be the priority as such. Only for players and staff. Park n rides are already being suggested for fan parking. But yes the student flats need to go.
