1990's, this place was good. My husband, son and I ate there almost every visit. Back then the food was delicious, and no where near that price. I am so happy that you are so honest, and not just a pixie duster like so many other vloggers. Love your video's, keep up the good work girl!

Love Mama Melrose, that 4 cheese Mac and cheese with the steak is on Point. Get the steak everytime there. Never disappointed. It has been better than the steak l got at Yatchmans.

We went to sci-fi drive in about ten years ago. My feet were killing me and although I don’t drink, I had three glasses of wine. I can tell you the food there is fabulous, unfortunately I can’t remember what I ate.

Eh, but a lot of us would disagree with her reviews. I loved my burger and fries at Sci-Fi and I really loved my food at Mama Melrose too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but just because she doesn't like something doesn't mean that you won't like it. She also likes Steakhouse 71, and that is hands down the worst food and service I've ever had in the Disney Bubble. 🤷‍♀️

@thesassycynic that's fair. Some of the food that she has tasted i agree with. I do prefer the steakhouse 71 burger and last time I went to sci-fi diner, I didn't care for the burger. Like you said everyone has different tastes. I just appreciate that she shows us new food options. If it something that she doesn't like but I think I would, I'll still try it. She doesn't like mayo but I do and that could enhance a sandwich or a burger.

I've gone to Sci-Fi multiple times just for the pappardelle pasta they used to have. It was soooo good. I'd also get the Black Garlic Caesar salad app (it was huge) which also looks to be taken off the menu. I love the atmosphere.. but I don't think I'll be going back since those items have been eliminated.

When Mama Melrose opened years ago was an EXCELLENT restaurant, we even met the original chef (he came out to see our twin boys), food was EXCELLENT then (we booked EVERYTIME!). When the original chef left, so did we because the food went downhill!! We do enjoy Sci Fi, but we go there for the burgers with a side of Onion Rings and add the horseradish sauce!

When we went on my son’s make a wish trip, about 2001, I got a steak at scifi and it was really good- but several years later the steak was no longer on the menu and the food was abysmal.

I went to Lydia‘s and Italian chef from Food Network like 15 years ago, and she had a white bean dip with roasted garlic. It was delicious. Sorry yours didn’t look nearly as good.😢 I thank you, Kristen for your braveness.

I’ve always heard that with Sci Fi what you’re really paying for is the ambiance. Also and I think one reason as to why the quality of the food has diminished has because they had to settle for cheaper products given how expensive food has become these past few years

The seafood Alfredo at Olive Garden is now like 21-22 bucks. That’s my go to dish there. Mama Melrose needs a serious re do. The shrimp look so raw and not cooked. How can they get away overcharging people and not cooking the food properly?

Ok Kristen, I see you have given these places a chance again! lol 😂 however, my biggest issue is Hollywood Studios food in general. It just isn’t good and so expensive. Every time I go there it’s like there’s barely anything good to eat. I have to either go back to Epcot or Disney springs after I leave the park. Idk I may try the smash burger but I’d rather spend that at steakhouse 71 instead.

Hi Kristin 👋 ☺️! Thanks for reviewing Sci-Fi. A previous blogger used the same word "abysmal" to describe their food critique. Glad you liked your smash burger, but sadly, your beef rib sandwich didn't work out so well. At Mama Melrose, I will never forget that look on your face as you tried to eat that meatball. Cherries on Wagu beef? I've had cherry sauce with roasted lamb (very gamey) but beef? That dish needs the foccacia bread 🍞. No deveined shrimp 🍤!?! Not for me! That dish resembles a Primavera pasta with shrimp. By appearance, it does not pique my fancy. Thanks for the heads up. I'll avoid these restaurants.

Been to both over the years. Sci-Fi was always bland, but I'd like to try the new burger. Mama Melrose’s we've been to three times. Each and every time the appetizers and entrées came out at the same time. Don't like that nor the food. Mama's is off our list for good.

The new restaurant on the boardwalk, the Cake Bake, has been reamed for their high prices. I agree the prices are high but the food at the Cake restaurant was very good. A beautiful restaurant and delicious fancy food.

Thank you for defending the Po Boy from Cake Bake Shop in contrast to that shrimp pasta from melrose!! 12 huge shrimp and fresh bread shipped in from New Orleans for the same price-sign me up!!!
