In your free time (since the lives get blocked) you should watch his live performance of Who that he just did on Fallon three hours ago! He sounds impeccable and you can really tell that his mic is ON whenever he's singing! The difference between backing vocals and his live vocals is very distinct and it just shows what an amazing vocalist he is! Like my man did not miss a single note! SOTY. Jimin was just flexing. Got this on repeat. Jimin did an acoustic version and a live performance on the Tonight Show last night. His vocals are fire. This entire album is incredible. Aside from this song, Jimin has some beautiful high notes & runs in Rebirth & Slow Dance. Visuals, dancing, vocals, and video, crushed it. This guy doesn't miss. I don't understand why some people think this man can't sing. He is dancing full out and singing on the Tonight Show. He didn't miss a single note. Very hard to be that stable while dancing. One thing you need to know is that jimin has been taking vocal lessons because he wanted to sing better. There is auto tune on the MV but there is also more weight or body to his voice that may seem like part of the effect. But if you watch his live jimmy fallon performance you will hear the new quality to his vocals. It still has that delicacy to it but also more stable and robust! You should also check out the acoustic and rock version! Amazing!

I think it would be hard for anyone to tell if autotune is used (to fix notes) without deep analysis with specialised software. it's standard practice for everyone, nothing wrong with it if they used it. From a stylistic point of view, they chose to use a lot of autotune, not sure if it's on the live vocals or backgrounds but bts members have used autotune as a style choice so many times.

✨Aside from live version on Jimmy Fallon tonight show, where there is absolutely no autotune, there is also a newly released Acoustic remix version where obviously there is also no autotune! There are though, many times where many are in disbelief that it’s actually Jimin’s voice even when there isn’t autotune. So I urge you to see the live as well as acoustic so you’ll know that perhaps indeed some certain parts of MV you might have thought auto tune was used when perhaps it wasn’t, though in beginning it definitely was a bit.🙏❤️‍🔥🥰🤩🌟✨💫

I feel like the tuning in part is the early 00s style they're going for. But you should check out the Jimmy Fallon performance. It's a live vocal and you can hear more of Jimin's unique vibrato. (There's a backing track too ofc, but little tuning on the parts he is singing live, which is the majority of it)

Definitely listen to the acoustic remix version. Heavenly and he dropped the Jimmy Fallon who performance. Jimin has confirmed with us that if I remember he spent 2(?) months going back to working on the basics of vocal training. He felt it was needed in order for him to grow more musically. You can watch the series Minimoni which is RM and Jimin talking about their respective(?) albums. The second episode is Jimin touching on his album. When you have the time 💜

Jimin explains a lot of his “Minimoni music” video. It’s where RM and him talk about plus listen to each other’s music. He does mention it’s an early 2000’s vibe and that he used auto-tune. He has several other versions of “Who” that just came out (including acoustic version). There are nuggets in his music video that relate to his other songs. I’m so glad you are going to music videos.
