Thanks JR! - 3/13/2024 - I am just looking for ways to prevent any unnecessary pain/strain or discomfort from bowling longer format tournaments since I was diagnosed with Lyme's Disease. Not sure how throwing a more focused 8-12 game block is going to feel like, so I may tape my knee and wrist/forearm. Thanks for this one.

Nice. I will try this next time I practice. My pain is right where you wrapped.

Pretty gutsy toss with the scissors JR. They would have surely landed point down if I tossed them onto my new couch. Btw, I can't find Turbo Rock tape anywhere.

J.R. Could you do a video on how other pba players tape their fingers for pain issues?

JR, what about taking the tape off? Will it pull out my arm hair? I don't want a waxing. 😂

Great stuff - suggestions for leg pain? As in IT band related stuff?

Great tip! Been getting tendonitis in the carpal tunnel area, and kinesio tape has done the trick! Definitely alleviated the wrist pain and nerve sensations. I can bowl without the tape now, so it does also help with the healing process. However, if I am over active on the work-keyboard, or wrenching too much in the garage, I feel the wrist strain and need to use the tape when bowling. It works wonders! I tried the wrist straps and found stability, but it was too bulky and impeded my wrist position. Tape is the way to go! Don't forget to prep your skin with 70% isopropanol...

I have been getting pain in the same area on my wrist, almost feels like I am going to drop the ball it gets so bad. Where do you wrap your wrist at alleviate the pain?
@tostadaspider-man70684 жыл бұрын
@@bradepling4200 Search "KT Tape Carpal Tunnel" and watch a few of the videos. I do a variation of the different instructions. With the palm up and wrist bent down as far as possible, I first install the tape on the carpal tunnel side, with lots of stretch. Then palm down with the wrist relaxed, tape installed on the top of the wrist. The third piece on the back of the hand to the forearm has been only necessary if I have pain on the top of wrist, which I rarely get now. Hope that helps...

What do you think of compression sleeves? I just bought one hoping it will help with my forearm pain. Is it just as effective as this?
@pequals344 жыл бұрын
I started having pretty bad elbow pain along with pain up my forearm and I tried a compression sleeve. It was somewhat helpful but if by the second or third game it's really in pain then the sleeve won't do much. I got an elbow support (the band you see people wear around their forearm under their elbow) and that made a huge difference. I still had a little bit of pain but substantially less than with/without the compression sleeve. I believe if it's pain on the top of your forearm then it's the same tendon that causes tennis elbow so wearing the support like you have tennis elbow should help. If it's on the bottom side then wear it like you have golfers elbow. I'm two handed and the pain originated in the top of my forearm and then over time moved to mostly my elbow so I'm pretty sure they're related. I bought the Sleeve Stars Elbow Support off Amazon if you were wondering which one I'm using.

What about pain in the ring finger or fingers in general
@kevinscarborough99824 жыл бұрын
I have arthritis in the fingers that get inserted into the ball. I shortened the span of my grip a little. Not too much. Now I have zero finger pain after three games of league play.

That might be my problem on my ring finger on the left side of my middle knuckle you can see an impression on the knuckle.. hurts after about three or 4 games... tol my proshop he keeps saying im cheating my thumb out but my thumb is all the way in the ball
@kevinscarborough99824 жыл бұрын
@@johnmcguire857 I just slightly moved the thumb hole up closer to the finger holes. I dont know exactly how much or the exact measurement. Just enough where I can tell the difference. Like I said before, nothing major. Just a slight distance. I know that probably doesn't help much. I'll see Monday if I can get the measurements of my new ball compared to my old one.

I have arthritis in my middle and ring dings and use a technique the uses a 1/2" piece of tape (I use Genesis) and wrap around the front of the joint and "X" it back to wrap the back of the joint. Provides great support and the pain is non-existent. If you have Flobowling Tommy John has a good explanation of how it is done. I use the wrist method too but wrap the entire wrist. It works!
