Wrist Rocket Modification | Barnett Black Widow Catapult

Modification of the old Barnett slingshot. I do not recommend doing this as it weakens the overall integrity of the frame but it greatly improves it in my opinion. Im shooting 8mm ammo with some 19 to 11mm tapered flatbands which are 0.6mm thick. I'm shooting 38mm chalk targets on my homemade target stands.

I did this mod to mine because of this video. I was extremely hesitant because I never get great results from my own mods and this one is quite irreversible. I do not regret it one bit. I shoot it exclusively over my other 2 slingshots now. I really appreciate you showing us this

This is excellent. I bought one in 1982 as a 15 year old. Think it cost about £3.00 then. It's currently lying in my mother's shed. The band's long ago crumbled to dust. Must go and clean it up. Suddenly got an urge to use it. Thanks for your excellent videos. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

In the 70s we used the Saunders wrist rockets and falcon and there was nothing wrong with em then we moved on to black widows. We used to shoot 1/2 inch steel nuts and used to get months out of latex tubes what ruined them was the change to poor and cheap quality bands pouches and the clip on plastic cap so we glued on plastic caps changed pouch and used latex tube problem solved

Greetings from new zealand. Here we can own bows slingshots and air rifles withought license. But the calesi viris killd most if the rabits where i live. Released on purpose. Because of the fucking vineyards there are no rabits no pigeons nothin. I grew up slingin. We had solid round amber rubber. Not latex! Amber rubber 1 to 1 stretch. Tyre rubber was vulcanised junk. Or the pathetic tubes from crossman slingshits pocket rockets. Or the envy of any kid the pro diablo. Ooooo! It had torque rods and wrist brace. All for weak little bands. So from then on because i couldnt affort 300!!$ i made my own. My hunting slingshots got a ruger walnut pistol grip. Ttf tubes 10mm od 3mm id. Now i use 4x 1mm flat exercise bands. I think thyr not as fast as good chinese slingshot latex. I cant compare as its too dear. Ive only shot pure multidipped latex tubes. Sergical. U recently got some extruded sent to me after they swore black and blue it wasnt. Now ive got slow as shit latex that pulls uneven! My home built has torquerods x3. Spring loaded cams for posts that whip thru as you release. And arm brace. The posts are ofset 15 deg to the right anticlockwise. To lign up to my anchor point. The wrist brace is the same. No need to hold the slingshot as it all locks into your arm and hand like a glove when you draw. Wish u had email id show you.

You should send your video to Barnett and they should make them but make the forks thicker and stronger and maybe but some sights on them would be the best catapult going in my opinion 👌🏻👍🏻

Nice mod. Ditch the wrist brace and use a paracord lanyard with an adjustable grip hitch. Attach it with a larks head and job done.

I was going to take it off mate but I'd mess up the original sticker on the handle. I know I've already cut the forks off it like lol but it's for my wee lad and he likes the wrist brace

I see it's an older version of Black Widow. Newer ones are held together with screws older one I have is rivets. Took newer one apart other day because the strap on brace is gone there's a lot of air space in it meaning it's not solid. Might benefit from packing out with something like hot glue to fill the voids, reinforce it and add weight. Should be good idea for their Strike Nine model too I reckon. Knowing my luck the 💩ty plastic they're made from melts faster than the glue...

how depressing is the UK gun scene that we as grown adults have to resort to slingshots because they pack more of a punch than -12ft/lb air rifles and can launch bigger calibre projectiles. I couldn't imagine the hoops and bs one has to jump through to be awarded a cert 1 fac. Still waiting on my section 2 sgc, 2 months later, still no word

Got it ,over the top or through the forks lmso, just bought a black widow haven't had one since the 70s, got it 2nd hand eBay, didn't get one shot as the band was perished and it snapped, luckily I ordered 500 8mm steel bbs, now I'm looking at replacing the rubber and I like this only have no vice but I'll think of something, for now o may just replace with round, what colour rubber do you recommend from eBay UK, he's got blue/black or there's the usual gum? Just bought a Black Widow - terrible. Biggest disappointment - those tubes are awful. Need to modify or chuck it away - totally useless as is - with 8mm lead
