I have been job hunting for 5 months now. The whole job market turned upside-down. I was so confident entering the market, believing that I can switch from sales to marketing. Then I got no response and rejections. I don't want to disappoint myself, I want to believe that I can do anything. Then your channel pops up. You break down the resume and interview in such great detail which is so easy to follow. I started to reflect on each part of my performance and saw areas for growth immediately. Thanks for such positive energy, perfection, and excellence. I already took you as a mentor and trust that I will land a dream job, a fresh start, despite the hard competition out there.

Hi Jeff, taking your advice from the video, I sent personalized thank-you emails to both interviewers after my recent interview. Guess what? They both hit me back with positive responses, and today, I got the job offer! Being a non-native English speaker and a new immigrant, getting a position in the local council was not a easy thing. Your tips on crafting personalized thank-you notes is very useful, it is absolute game-changer. Big thanks for sharing such a gem!

I have given multiple interviews in the last 2 months and sent them thank you emails. From my experience, if they liked you and you have the skills they want, they’ll hire you regardless. I was hired by a company I didn’t write thank you email to. All the other companies didn’t seem to care. It’s a good practice. Although, if they find someone better who doesn’t give af, they’ll still hire. Personal experience and nothing against. Jeff Su is amazing as always.

Hello Jeff, Thank you for all the tips you have given I'm learning a lot from your videos. One thing though about sending a follow-up, a recent recruiter that I have spoken last time replied to me and said thanks to my email and mentioned that he/she has already forwarded my resume /application to the managers. My question is when should I send a follow-up email or should I send a follow-up email? This reply was last April 26. I did reply thank you for keeping me posted and have a great week and was able to reply to his/her reply within that same day. Thank you Jeff, I do hope you could help me on this as I really look forward in working in that specific company the recruiter is working on. You expert advice is much appreciated.

Hi Jeff, I just want to thank you for your videos, specially the ones about resumé and cover letter. I found several mistakes in my previous resumé and now I'm in the last round (out of 4) for an international company. I've also seen your videos about productivity and I have to say you're full of hacks, I hope one day I can achieve your level of knowledge. I want to ask you something: yesterday my interviewer kindly gave me his email in case I had to contact him if I had any questions (I didn't ask for it). For what I understand he doesn't make the hiring decision (as I mentioned I've done 3 rounds out of 4). Should I send him a thank you email anyway? Should I send thank you emails to everyone who interviews me? Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
@JeffSu
@JeffSu 2 жыл бұрын
Oh my god YES Alina! Interviewers will always have a say in the final hiring decision (or they wouldn't be chatting with you!) and all impressions matter. We definitely shouldn't approach thank you email as "oh this will help me land that job" but rather "it's the right thing to do and thank someone for their time." I learned this lesson back in 2016 when the front desk of the company I was interviewing for told me after the fact that she found me funny and messaged the hiring manager. Although that might not have decided whether or not I got the job offer but it definitely helped!
