Thank you Homay! That was really cool how you used the call and response with the flute and violins, and the beautiful interplay between cello and clarinet! I will try incorporating that and accents in my compositions too.

(stops my wallet's screaming) Shush, wallet. I must git gud with free libraries and work on composition before I even consider buying god-tier libraries. I must not sully these sacred files with my inferior fingers! (returns to my forge...I mean home studio) Update: I already got BBCSO Discovery for free. I know about LABS (wonderful!) and already investing in Originals. I was happy then and I'm still happy now! Especially without murduring my wallet.

@Just Some Alien I found I needed a balance between my own skill and the quality of the tools I was using - if I just use basic MIDI tools/libraries, I can't bring out the best of my ability. I wouldn't use £700 tools like BBCSO straight away, but I needed something like Albion One to get myself started with decent enough tools to progress myself.
@jinnkastucias46604 жыл бұрын
I don't care, my skills are a bit random. But I love samples and great libraries, so even If I end with not decent content I bought it and will play a lot and have fun :D. Also my plan is to copy many songs from already existing OSTs to train how to work with this library, probably one of the best ways to learn.

Lovely tune, really inspiring. Thank you! I am considering buying the bbc symphony orchestra pro. But I am very concerned about the panning of the instruments and how to do that with the library, and, have a proper result ?? You mentioned about panning. But it was very short. I would have loved to see more about that, especially when I hear the way you balanced everything. You did it incredibly well! How do you do that? It would be great to see a video specifically about this subject.

@Dispoboy13 жыл бұрын
Some games have very good and complex scores. The from Software Games, especially darksouls 3 and bloodborne OSTs have been written by big composers and recorded/played by real orchestras and choirs. They outplay most of the moviescores now a days with ease. For sure they are somewhat „epic“ and might be best compared to Howard shores work on LOTRs OST.

Back in the early 70s when I sat in front of a scrolling player piano roll and wished I could somehow take advantage of it for my own compositions, never in 1000 years would I have thought that same player piano tech would one day allow you to play an entire ‘real’ orchestra with a keyboard. Not that it isn’t worth it, but there’s nothing like a $1000 price tag to also remind you how ‘starving’ an ‘artist’ can be! 😆

How is it that everything sound so clean and open and warmth but when I try to make a similar composition with similar instruments...everthing sound so harsh and boxy? What is your trick? :) It would be nice to see how you pan and eq and mixed all those pieces.
@michaelmckinnie5 жыл бұрын
I dont have this library but most of their other libraries are already panned the way the orchestra would sound from the selected mics so if you're panning your instruments that could be why your getting harsh sounds

musicalthinker hi! Thanks for the reply:) I meant if there was an automatic way to have the tracks look like a rainbow color setting instead of manually having to go to each track and select an individual color. Sorry for the confusion. I guess from what I’ve read you have to manually set the colors for each track.
