I think this video is most helpful when you pause before he reveals the answer to write down your answer and then check to see if you were correct or where you did wrong. I did it like that and memorized a lot of names along the way.

But how do you find out what the formula for hydroxide, pentoxide, sulfate, or even ammonium?? For ex. how do you get the "NH4" for Ammonium??

Those are polyatomic ions, those you just have to memorize.
@inforthekiii88404 жыл бұрын
not necessarily, you'll be given a chart of polyatomic ions along with periodic tables if you're being taught about this stuff early in your year. but you will have to memorize it in your final exams later on in your year

SO^-2 is sulfate... it's a polyatomic ion. S by it's self is sulfur, therefore CaS would be calcium sulphide, while CaSO is calcium sulfate :)

Thanks for this video, it really make sense. Can you please explain the difference between the sulfate and sulfite ( Beryllium sulfite and calcium sulfate). I am confused , could you make it understandable for me please?.

Isn't Calcium Sulfate = Ca and S ? Where did the O - behind S come from? I think your video's are great! :)
