I love your videos! You say what you think without filter and inhibitions and that's the beauty. A lot of people criticize what they don't understand and the cancellation mentality is so exhausting, if anyone doesn't like taboo or dark romance then don't read it. Give us more of your long videos I can listen to you for hours! Good luck with your writing no matter what your process is and how chaotic it is, the main thing is that you try.❤

I always recommend Catharina Maura's books if you’re struggling to read/finish a book, especially her Windsors series. Her covers are absolutely stunning (that’s always a +) basically the whole series is about a super rich family and the main trope is arrange marriage + some random tropes here and there. I honestly love this author so much, sadly don’t see a lot of people talking about her when her writing deserves all the love & attention! Give it a try, hopefully you will love ❤❤

I’m so so happy you picked up Butcher and Blackbird! Truly one of my all time favorite books. Leather and Lark is fine. I was disappointed because I was reeaaalllllyyyyy looking forward to reading about Lachlan, but as a stand-alone it’s ok.

Anna Todd has a company I think, she helps young authors to get their books in the market. That would be so cool and kind of symbolic if you work with Anna on your book while she’s the reason why you (me and a lot of people) started to read romance books ❤ Can’t wait to read what you’re writing girl!!!❤❤❤❤

I live in the US and I have to get up at 5 a.m. for work. I love watching your videos while eating breakfast, this is my favorite way to start the day, you always put me in a good mood. Also I’m very excited that you’re talking about your book. I remember you mentioning it before. I do my best writing on my phone too (it’s just an exercise/hobby more than a passion for me though). I use the google docs app. I swear, I’m a literary genius on my 30 minute lunch break, but when I actually have the time to write, I’m just fully incapable of original thought. It’s so frustrating lol

Is the movie you are talking about WHERE HANDS TOUCH (2018) with Amandla Stenberg?! Love that movie. There is a book called Love and War by Shirra Lynn but that also gets mixed reactions.

You know, I think it is your place to say. You're a reader, you're an author, you're a human and are entitled to your opinion and to express it in a respectful way without being cancelled, whatever it is. I mostly read MM romance 👬and have read loads where one of the characters is homophophic or has internalised homophobia - do i think the author is homophobic...NO! A lot of MM books are written by women - are they not allowed to write this because they are not from that demographic... NO! What would I fill my time with??? Do i think authors of captor/captive romances believe wholeheartedly kidnapping is the way to a woman's heart...NO!. Why would it be different for race or criminality or mental health rep or any other thing, i don't really get it? We can write about experiences that are not our own. We are allow to put dark and disturbed ideas on page and there will be someone who is gonna eat that shit up and that is OK! Do we really need to gatekeep who can write what and what can and cannot be written? As a person from an ethnic minority would I personally read a book with racist tones - No...but you know what, im not gonna yuck someone else's yum 🤷♀ Its all fiction baby! If it doesn't make you happy...DNF and move on, life is way too short😝 Sorry for the rant🙃

I feel like people speak up more about R-word just being written but they never speak up about the the token characters of colors in these books they love to read or how so many authors have a huge diverse following but their books don’t represent that at all. Like how many different white women or white passing women can you write about? Everyone is silent in these topics but when a character is dark it’s appalling!???
@moretomaryАй бұрын
This 👏🏼 I think authors are scared to be inclusive. I know there were a lot of people upset with Liz Tomforde being a white woman who has written her characters as POC. But then I asked those in the community who are WOC and opinions were mixed-some love her stories, some disagree that she should even write POC characters. It’s hard to gauge because everyone feels differently and I think that’s why mainstream white women authors tend to stick to what they know. I just think…and I mean this with lots of different topics, why can’t romance be used to educate? Kennedy Ryan is a perfect example of how to do it tastefully and respectfully. I feel like mental health is misrepresented ALL THE TIME and it irks me bad BUT I just put it aside and think ‘hey, maybe this is their experience’ because mental health symptoms and how it can unfold does look drastically different depending on the person and the environment. I don’t know 🤷🏻♀️ I just find it strange that authors can write about murderers, stalkers, all those types of characters and everyone’s okay with it but god forbid if a romance features homophobic characters-or other types of gross humans lol-that are relevant to the MC’s character arc and journey.
@allegraprince94Ай бұрын
@@moretomary same girl ❤️don’t tell me you can write about about two gay men falling in love, but you’re not comfortable writing about a WOC. I think if you’re a good writer and you can have beta readers and all types of things when creating work. It shouldn’t be an issues. Your readers shouldn’t have to beg you for characters that look like them. Instant turn off when I hear excuses. I don’t mind when authors write about WOC if it’s done well then it’s done well ❤. I mean why would you be afraid of coming off as a “R” or worse if you’re not? I’d rather a character be full of life and irritating than someone who feels like a check marked on an inclusive list. lol l think I’m a little passionate about this 😅
