I am not just thinking about CRT or any other irrelevant propaganda being taught in classrooms but also from a safety perspective. Imagine a child claims a teacher was inappropriate in the class now we video evidence of actually happend. If the teacher is guilty then we have concrete evidence. If it just a BS claim by a student against a good teacher then we have that. If the children are unruly or violent, etc. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to the downsides of cameras in the classroom or body cams. because I certainly don't see one. I can honestly say that the body cam I wore not only protected me from false accusations in more than one case and it could be argued that it made me a more aware and professional in dealing with the average citizen as well as criminals. As you should expect from law enforcement. Why not the same for basically a stranger that spends hours every day with your child?

I'm a teacher and I say microphones on every single teacher. Too many teachers/unions will feed parents horror stories about their kids being watched or some scare tactic so ok then, microphone every single teacher. Cheaper, less likely to "break" and parents can listen in at work, home, when driving etc or to hell with it, have cameras and an audio feed too. I'm not sure of the mechanism but it should be easy to set up. I have nothing to hide so no problem. If I refuse, you should fire me.

High school senior college credit writing class. There are 642 topics a handful of them are "sexual" in nature. These kids are about to begin COLLEGE this is not being taught in middle school. My advice to conservatives is that they should choose their battles more strategically if they have any hope of winning the culture war. The intro did say the book was used to prepare students for college. So you are correct; those would be 17-18 years old and nearly adults. I don’t think we can consider them children. Parents will have no input on the college material, so maybe this issue is not so important after all. I am interested to know at what age the parents plan to back off and allow their children to become adults?

The book is called “642 Things To Write About”. It’s a book of prompts. It’s all about creative writing, which is an ART! I’m sick of people hiding their kids away from the inevitable and sometimes hypocritically literally laying bare for them at the same time. That’s what should be sick. If anything, all the kids were being little stinkers and picking all the racy stuff just so they could see the butthurt rat race of a moral panic. If anything, the teacher could have just selected the less explicit prompts.

Most people are naive about norms, ethical standards and mores. We have ideals but most often operate well below or apart from them. But those two positions operate best in equilibrium. Too cloistered and we become mentally unhealthy, anal-retentive prudes. Too liberal and we become mentally unhealthy dissolutes. Just as there is good fat and bad fat, there is good hypocrisy and bad hypocrisy. Question is:. Does the inclusion of these topics in school curricua upset the balance? I think it might. I think we're *supposed* to keep up the "pretence" at certain times and in certain places in order to maintain that balance: that's the way the world works. Hence the notions of shame,, "there is a time and place"' modesty, discretion on one hand, and freedom, excess, progressiveness, permissiveness, "being true to yourself" on the other. (Note that both sides have positive and negative words). So yeah, I would prefer to keep schools modest with a nod and a wink towards raciness and our "true inner nature", rather than opening the floodgates. Those topics could have been couched in more general terms that nevertheess allowed student to express themselves candidly, if they saw the opening. Being a pragmatist and skeptic who believes that the absolute encompasses the non-absolute, it's all in the balance.

As a parent, find out from your child which teacher \ class pushes this garbage. Then, sit in the class. Each parent takes turns and rotate the days. Another idea, hide a camera in the classroom or have your child secretly record the class. File a civil lawsuit against the school and teacher(s).
