The wrong routs of the most feared notorious hood. Hillbrow is dangerous and its no walk in the park. Hillbrow known for brutal crimes has been the most feared hood in Johannesburg South Africa. A lot from street girls (pro$titution)..bad guys who fear no jail are here.Hillbrow is an inner city residential neighbourhood. Very know for its high population density, poverty and unemployment.
This hood is amaizing but needs a lot of cleaning. Sorry to say but hillbrow u need to up your game and clean your hood.I loved the walk but i was scared to death and very uncertain.
Passing a group of people and i would hear whistling from other side communicating to guys my side. I didnt want to know i just had to pass quickly not sure if they were plotting against me.

I was mugged around joubert park and bok street...three guys strangled me took my laptop,phone and cash n i was lucky not to be stabbed...very dangerous neighborhood please stay away

May I ask what makes you stand out to the locals (apart from the cam).. Obviously, if I was to walk there (I'm white British) I'd definitely get some unwanted attention. But while you were walking it seemed that most people were just minding their own business. I spent the whole day walking in Nairobi CBD after being warned that it was dangerous but had a really good day and felt pretty safe. I took the necessary precautions though.

I was talking to a man that lived in Hillbrow years ago; he says it was great. You can tell by the buildings that it was a nice place at one point. Hopefully, eventually everyone can live in peace there.

Watching to day hillbrow I used to live in hillbrow quarts hill Bruce Street it was safe then but now it's one of the dangerous areas to day

I had no idea u once lived here, this place has become so dangerous, its sad but but it is the truth, the streetsof big towns has become very bad, AKA the musician just being shot recently in Duban made me realise we not safe in many places

I worked on the boarder of hilbrow,,in Berea,,next to the Berea fire station, 12 Mitchell street Berea...building called the Vistaero..5 years before I imagrated.

@Walk_Africa I worked at the Vistaero, 12 Mitchell street Berea, next to the Berea fire station ,for 6 years ..no problems besides the rainbow taxi company intimidating us and threatening us because we never used them ,,,before uber,,,,,everything went smoothly,,,just have to know your directions and how to talk the slang,nearly mugged at a petrol station by 3 Nigerians staying at the safari hotel ..clerks where afraid to come help but luckily something spooked them and they left me alone ,
