I’ve been working in Photoshop since 1992. Back then it didn’t even have layers. I built my business around Photoshop and other Adobe applications. Still, Unmesh is my go-to for all things Photoshop today! I am 78 and completely believe that no matter your age, “life never stops teaching, so never stop learning”

The issue that haunts me so often, but never had the time to investigate, I rather just finish the job in Illustrator when resizing and them import it in Photoshop. And then this video comes recomended. Thanks man, your videos are very helpfull.

I started working non-destructively in Photoshop because of you. So when I saw the headline indicating that smart objects can be somehow damaged, I had to check t out. Very useful information. Many thanks, indeed.

There's so many bugs with smart objects, its not only that. I've worked as a graphic designer for 2 decades more and this 2023-24 the bugs are still there like smart obj coming from illustrator, then resize. "Sometimes" it will turn it all black. And the most annoying of all with smart obj bug is when we resize the whole layers via transfer(selected all layers) then resize it proportionally, the only thing get resized is the bottom most obj, SOMETIMES the top most obj is the only thing affected. There were more but I forgot what it was, but when I met them again through working on multiple subjects, it appears. Its just that I'm too lazy to report them or take note of what it was. I work in a fast phased job, taking notes oftentimes get ignored.

similary problem with smart object. When i import high quality image to small canvas, it automatic import as a smart object(normal). But if i let it as a smart object the image is a little bit pixelate(even with the correct parameter as you mentionned). Unique solution i found is to enlarge my smart object image, pixelate it and then reduce to the correct size.

As with all of the Creative Cloud applications, there are numerous DUMB "default settings" that Adobe has chosen for us upon program installation. I believe the developers lie awake at night thinking, "How can we best screw up our end users?"

Hi, so I have a question on this subject. I had been working on pixel art projects so I had my interpolation set to Nearest Neighbor(Preserve Hard Edges) and forgot to set it back to Bicubic Auto when I started working on a poster project. I was working at a pretty high resolution for the poster so didn't notice the jaggies until towards the end of the work. Is there a way to update all of the smart objects in your project to the new interpolation setting? I couldn't really find it. My work around was to scale the entire project up through image size and then back down again after setting my interpolation correctly. This however caused a few problems that had to be fixed afterwards.
