Makes me smile every time I see that Mac's sporting goods in Bishop is still in business. My late grandfather took me in there for both my first fishing license and my first hunting license back in the 1970s.

Can't believe you missed Erick Schat's Bakery in Bishop! It's a European-style bakery & deli with sandwiches to die for. Two loaves of their sheepherder bread always end up in our vehicle.

there is also an awesome secluded place approx 12 miles away that has very old glass bottles that make music when the wind blows. It is due north of mono mills on the east side of mono lake. So cool having lunch and listening to the music. Built near an abandoned shack that a was occupied I assume in the early 1900s. He also built the 30 by 30 bottle encloser. So cool but very powery silt dust to get there. steve

I have pulled out my California maps to follow along on your travel routes. I have noted the places for my own future travels once the borders open again post COVID. I love taking roads less traveled. I don't have 4WD but I do have a self camperized 1 ton extended GMC van that, with caution and reasonableness on my part, has allowed me to navigate some pretty difficult terrain. If in doubt, I don't push it though. Better safe than sorry. Regarding GPS directions, yup. That has definitely happened o me more that once!

If you know the difference between odd an even. Then you’ll always know what direction you’re going on a road. All of the United States even numbers are east west. Odd numbers are north south. Every state every road

And for US highways the small numbers are in the north and east and the big numbers are in the south and west. Interstates are the opposite, thus US 2 and I-94 are roughly parallel, except in Michigan where they're about 350 miles apart. US 2 is in the UP and I-94 runs through Detroit and then to Chicago.
@davidbochmann58113 жыл бұрын
@@johnnylightning1491 like US hey 5 which runs from Mexico to Canada through California Oregon and Washington. 🙀
@johnnylightning14913 жыл бұрын
@@davidbochmann5811 That would be INTERSTATE 5 not US Hwy 5 which is in the New England states. Interstates have red and blue signs with white lettering and US highways are white signs with black lettering. This confuses lots of folks.

Yep, you mess up if your GPS set for shortest route, not the quickest route. My brother-law learned his lesson driving thru Atlanta. It took us off the Interstate and we went thru the downtown city streets. That wasted at least an hour. His passengers were not happy with him LOL. Another great video guys. Wish I was there with you in an RV. Can't wait for the next one.

I also don't have any idea what an Ortega hamburger or an Ortega roast beef sandwich is, but I'm glad it was good.
