So everyone always thinks about the explosion risk and lightness being the problem with hydrogen filled wheels. A further problem would be the excessive leakage. Hydrogen does not like containers.

I figure if Capac actually did pull it off, though, he'd be telling them AFTER it had gone and crashed into DE's runway again. Like everyone would be confused and on high alert about an enemy attack and Capac would just be like, "Um, yeah. That was me. I flipped the trailer down the mountain successfully." But that's still impressive that he broke the game into getting a piston to shove with a force of (unofficially) 43 "bronto-newtons". Unofficially Bronto and Geo come after Yotta, but that's yet to be established.

If there is another series similar to this again. A fun mini game you can add into the run can be, when something like "The Incident" happens instead of doing the crazy Space Engineers thing you guys can do. Place down cargo containers and whoever can grind down more of the rover gets some kind of in game reward or bonus. Make sure the containers are placed close by each other so as the group flies back and forth lots of opportunities for quick head shots or kamikazes to each other. Just a thought for a bit of spice and fun for all involved and watching. Your group's ingenuity and ability to stretch what people think is possible in this game is amazing. And yes late to the party but slowly realized I have watched bits and pieces of this group for years. Gonna make sure I am subbed to all involved. Like it dawned on me that I watched this group playing RTS Star Trek game playing against the Borg on some sort of insane difficulty level years ago. 🤘🤘

Yes, the late hydrogen warning is as bad even in solo playing :P Its not as bad if your in space so it should be gravity dependent, earlier warning the higher the gravity.

In complete honesty, that warning is about as useful as a fighter jet's "B*tch'n Betty" warning telling you, "Terrain! Pull up!" while you're crashing into a mountain. They definitely do need to recalibrate that warning to go off sooner in gravity environments and with varying velocities. You don't need quite as much hydrogen when you're just floating there building something. But if you're zooming over a crevasse at 50+ mps, you probably want to know that you're not going to have enough fuel to stop and land in 1.4 g's.

the thing i cant belive is you build a giant bridge drove what is basicly a aircraft carrier on wheels over it but you didnt fly a plane under the bridge imagine the added exitement of crossing the bridge whit the whole base on it end then capac comes in on a strange flying contraption and goes look what i can doo

About hitches- I strongly believe you should have (pitch - roll - yaw - pitch again) to allow vertical offset as well as angle. I seen many times, that trailers had to balance only on front wheels because that was the angle enforced by your hitch design.

Splitsie needed to set up the fuel trailer with pistons on timers at various times, so it would randomly shoot a piston out at the highest possible speed as it bounced down the hill and see how far it would go

I've noticed lately in single player that share inertia tensor has been giving me issues, it seems to resist movement on the rotor/hinge/piston causing extra force on the rotor/hinge/piston that is trying to move it. had a drill arm that would try to seize up and acted really odd untill i removed it on everything after the hinge

So where's the tutorial for this, Splitsie? We also need to know about the clang that happens when large improbably large rovers interact with separate non-static grids that collide and damage with voxels. That and how to drive big rovers from 1 gravity well to another and how to roll giant rovers down mountains and how to charge giant rovers recklessly into battle. I'm kidding about the others, but this weird mobile grid to non-static grid, to world interaction does make me wonder if something like this is plausible for simple transportation without mags or landing gear or if those sort of things are an absolute requirement and what would be the bare minimum for "at least build with [Insert Block Type Here] for your voxel collisions". Also, I'm actually really interested to see when you get back into Icarus again. They're continuously updating things and the latest thing added a bunch of farming things and also they made water systems a bit of a thing. I've yet to get one set up, due to how expensive a pump and piping system costs, but things like the cement mixer now have water "requirements" that are more like bonuses if they're hooked into a water system. I don't know what kind of bonus that is, whether it's time reduced on processing or output bonuses.

@@BallChainGaming but that was allowed by the rules otherwise the entire large grid they have is illegal per their rules back when they started. The only static grid they could have are landing geared and not clipped into the voxels though the bots could. Though this rule is a bit grey when they take over a bot built structure such as the airfield a few weeks ago. Also in this episode they lifted a trailer with a landing gear on a piston which would also be against the rules. Assuming they still care about the rules

We care about the rules, but sometimes you have to flip a giant 800,000kg rover and there's just no other way. I think this was a lot more impressive than just driving over a landing geared grid, don't you? Much more engineering challenge.

I thought it was funny listening to them talk about Star Trek. They are so young. I watched TOS, when it first aired. Tng is very good, as was ds9, and voyager. But they had budget, and 20 years of technology to help. TOS started it all, established the universe. It is worth watching. Just like Dr Who. The new series had much better effects, etc., but if you don't know the original, despite the cheesy effects, you don't really know Dr Who. The same goes for the old computer talk. The amiga mentioned, as if it is ancient. The amiga was modern, compared to earlier computers I owned, though I still have both a trs80, and an amiga in the basement.

It got kinda broken by covid - Capac and I couldn't record in our office space together and the MP mod isn't great with latency even over LAN. Now that a lot of that stuff is back to normal we've ended the lease on our office so are going to try to work out some ways to do something with it in the future, but so much of it just ends up being parallel play rather than actual coop that I'm not sure how it's going to work :(
