I honestly can not understand why Law Enforcement Agencies at all levels refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes! This happens too often and and should be unacceptable to every U.S. Citizen!

Middle of the night raids should be outlawed. Especially since the cops won't double check the address before busting in.
@SkyHighPatriot25 күн бұрын
So... Shine a light in the dark to make sure you're at the right address? Screw whatever element of surprise they had... You realize they come in heavily like that for violent and armed and dangerous individuals. Right? They really will just come up to the door and knock if they can. If their suspect has shot at police or anything, that's out the window. It's flashbangs and screaming.
@meansnowflake25 күн бұрын
@SirBvgzington Yes, make sure you have the correct address. If you're so incompetent that you can't take basic precautions, then you shouldn't be busting down doors overnight, no matter what. Or we could do away with qualified immunity and allow those who are incompetent to be sued. 🤷
@SkyHighPatriot25 күн бұрын
@@meansnowflake I agree that the person who caused it should be sued and held accountable. But the cops aren't the ones who caused the raid. They're reacting to someone else's actions, so they can't be solely responsible. At most, the driver who pulled up to the wrong driveway should have consequences. The guys who jumped out, in the dark and weren't responsible for driving, as the media acknowledged, had what looked like the right house, on a corner as it should be. Should they be liable too?

Absolutely frightening. How many more families have had this happen to them and kept silent?? This situation would give anyone constant PTSD, each time there is a bang on their door, a loud noise, or even sleeping at night, worry it might happen again. Someone could have had a heart attack, fainted , or medical emergency. If the "boyfriend" had a weapon he could have , in order to protect his family, shot one of the officers for protection. From 2017! Why was their case thrown out from lower court, if there is a constitutional protect "tort"? How the heck "did the officers have the wrong house."!!!! If this was a doctor or officers home, would those people be treated the same way? Just frightening for that family.

How many families have been compensated ? Possibly that’s why there silent, we the people should be privy to all that our government does at least shortly after the fact, it should just be a knee jerk reaction to report all that transpires when using tax dollars to run all government operations. How is it the elected officials and government employees feel they have responsibility to answer to their actions.

@bossladyblues that is why it is a split-second decision. Think about it the other way, if they are taking the extra seconds to double check and something horrible happens? They are human they make mistakes. But they should be given the leeway here.
@bossladyblues24 күн бұрын
@ making sure you’re at the right house is not a split second decision. They already have the address and most homes have the house number on the mailbox or door. It’s not something you really have to think about and make a split decision on. Before you barge into a home, look at the door and or mailbox. Also the street name when turning onto the street. Things people do everyday. If the post office can accurately do this most of the time, I expect law enforcement to be able to do it and have better technology or procedures to ensure location accuracy
