It is just very bad when people who have their little savings "invest" and follow others (who you would think know better) to do so and lose. Same story with Voyager digital currency platform, Seesaw Protocol platform, and that other one. Voyager kept telling customers that their money is protected up to $250,000 by the FDIC days before they filed for bankruptcy then they filed and millions or billions of people's funds were gone/stolen by Voyager and never to be returned. Before that, they also took people's money and loaned to other companies (without disclosing to customers) and the other company never paid it back.

The 5k was legit. But the asking for tax payments are not, her investor's identity was stolen. But it should have triggered alarm bells bc no legit investment company will ask you to pay taxes. She should have called the contact number in legit website & told about these emails she's getting, for sure she'll be told it's a scam.

Agree. How could Fidelity not know about the impersonation of their broker. How could the broker not know?

That’s my question. They didn’t say she was working with the advisor through Fidelity. I’m guessing she reached out to this person via some email account posted online.
@Deathtofrogleghorn4 ай бұрын
@@wilbertberriclone7427You could look up that broker’s information and see where they were working at. Her dumb butt failed to catch onto the fact that they were emailing her from a Gmail account instead of one straight from Fidelity’s. Then when they asked her to pay taxes and fees up front, that should’ve told her something was wrong. You don’t pay more money to get money. You pay any tax liabilities to the IRS around tax time if you made gains-not to the person asking for it.

Maybe she has nobody with experience who can give her guidance with her life savings. Her parents probably never even taught her how to manage money, period. Still you would think she would've been more cautious because a person who lacks knowledge in anything could easily be taken advantage of by anybody.
