We don't know why she ruled the other 2 EV at the beginning (the EV6 and the Ioniq 5 are basically the same car), or why they went on a track since there's no test of the 3 cars in this video although "they had used them at the track a lot". It really feel like it was put together and filmed last minute, without any serious test or even a script in mind, although she said she searched the best car for two months! What about cargo space (and the frunk), space for the passengers, comfort, options if any, the different features, reliability, the price of charging the cars (since they don't have the same battery and consumption)... This video is a joke.

That's a mistake. The Model Y is a much better car. When she took over on the highway when it was doing the exit she was just scared. If you are looking at the screen it is clear the car was going to take the exit, she took over after she was on the offramp. I don't know how "Lane Change Unavailable" is a comforting message. Literally means the car doesn't feel confident enough when it is clearly safe to change lanes. Points to its unreliability. Also, 2-3 times a year of supercharging for 6+ hours at a time? + I don't think already built cars are even compatible with the future transition to Tesla Chargers.

While I think the video was good I do think that the drivers assist category was not very informative and was frankly botched. This category should objectively go to Tesla. The Tesla has vastly more capable hardware and software such that you have the option of Autopilot, Enhanced Autopilot, or FSD beta which is effectively A to B driving capability anywhere you want to go. It literally is like having a chauffeur (while monitoring) to take you anywhere and everywhere you ask it to go. This is not just freeway driving in some locations like Ford. Also, I noticed she was nervous using both the Tesla and Ford systems. The value of these systems does NOT become apparent with just one single short drive when you are understandably nervous! It takes a few weeks or even a couple of months of non-stop driving with the system engaged to understand what you have as a driving tool. The Tesla is hands down the winner because once you get past that inevitable nervous phase at the beginning, you reach that OMG moment where you realize this is amazing and I can never live without this again.

But it was also labeled about cars under $60k so that rules out FSD Beta because that alone costs $15,000. It is also a Beta.
@getreal7217 Жыл бұрын
@@MachE_VLOG I wouldn't say it rules out FSD beta. A couple of things worth noting are that the Model Y is eligible for the full $7500 tax credit which brings the purchase price with FSD beta to under $60K. Also Model Y gives you the most flexibility since you can either go with the free Autopilot or opt for Enhanced Autopilot or FSD beta whenever you want after purchasing the car. You can decide to pay and use these advanced features via subscription to control your cost over time (as opposed to buying it outright). Also, the performance of both Autopilot and FSD beta have dramatically improved over time with Tesla's OTA updates. FSD beta today is very different that FSD beta 2 years ago or even 1 year ago and the improvements will continue. In the early days of FSD beta the term "sketchy" comes to mind as a fair description. Today it is relaxing and safer to use than driving yourself in most circumstances (of course while always monitoring) even if not yet perfect. So the term "beta" has had very different implications to the driver experience over the years. IMO, today's FSD beta will make most drivers who use it for a real trial period never want to drive without it.

@@getreal7217 We just filmed a video on using FSD Beta and it did not do well at all. As for the price, that is moving the target if you now want to change it to include tax credits. As for OTAs, the other cars get those as well and improve over time, too. That is nothing special now.
@getreal7217 Жыл бұрын
@@MachE_VLOG My comments on the performance of FSD beta are based on my own experience and my wife's experience over almost 2 years in my geographical area and over almost 50K miles using it virtually 100% of the time. I don't know where you filmed or in what circumstances/environments you chose to drive so difficult for me to compare and contrast why your experience was different than mine is. I can certainly point to specific drive here and there in recent months where it did not do well in a specific circumstance but overall it is truly relaxing, reassuring, and in many instances made better decisions than I would have made if driving myself. The redundant nature of having two driving systems working in parallel (FSD beta and myself) is now indispensable to me. I consider it the ultimate driver's assist system at this time. I wonder what solid batteries will change things. Toyota aims to release the first solid state battery car in 2027. If solid batteries work out, I suspect they'll be the standard in 2050 for cars, laptops, and phones.

You hit it in the first sentence: "... under $60k". They are ridiculously expensive. How can they make a hybrid with gas and electric power, and all that is required for them to integrate, for in the $40k range, remove all the gas related aspects and they become $65k??? Crazy talk!

My biggest issue with the tesla is that they want $15k for the full self drive package. After using it a few times during my promo period, I don't think I would pay 1k, let alone 15. Its jarring on streets and even on highways when the conditions aren't ideal (it tends to wonder when you're in a lane that merges, among other things like randomly slowing down). I get all the functionality I want from the Self-Steer on highways.

WSJ does what it does best again - play politics. This is not a tech review, just another attempt to fool customers with a biased opinion. However, customers collectively tend to make smart choices.

5:45 "... Like the Mustang and the Tesla..." more like "...Like the Ford and the Tesla" but alright. The reporter needs to pick one way or the other to talk about it, sometimes it refers to the Ford as Mustang but when she talks about Tesla or Hyundai, is always the brand of the car maker, not the model. Picky? Sure but annoying. Ford with the Mach-e limits the delivery of performance (if you may) for just 5 seconds what makes no sense for a "Mustang". I drove from Toronto to NYC with a Model 3 and had to stop 3 times for fast charging and not complains at all, especially about battery life or how it was behaving after 9 long hours of driving. Autopilot by far is the best one amongst all EVs, I find it weird how Ford won this one. Tesla sadly or not remains as the leader in the EV market, all the other brands are still catching up. Me personally, I would go with Tesla and maybe like Marques was saying, see where the competitors have gotten after three years which to be honest, I think will be close but not that close to where Tesla is today.
@steveo7502 Жыл бұрын
didn't learn much here. She could have given a final score to each. No substantive reason for choosing the Ford at the end other than she trusts Ford self-driving capability more and that category was the only one that really mattered at the end of the day

@randomcheese1719 Жыл бұрын
that's true, Tesla was the first to market with EVs though so they have the lead due to their brand recognition. But, it doesn't mean the product is better. As more EVs come out from the big automakers, Tesla will begin to be in trouble. Their products already lack behind Ford, and with GM releasing the Equinox and Blazer it's going to get worse. Tesla will have a hard time competing going forward.

Great video and a lot of work to put this together! I wonder how accurate the range display is. We all know that five bars on a Samsung cell phone is not the same as five bars on an iPhone. As far as I know there are no standards and car manufacturers might be tweaking the range display to support their narrative.

Just about the DUMBEST car test I've seen! Instead of measuring the efficiency of the cars, she relies on how much % battery is left in the car after that drive - this does NOT tell her how much energy was used and different cars measure the remaining % state of charge differently.

My use case for EV is driving from suburbs to city for work, and the only advantage Tesla have over the competition in that regard is Sentry Mode, especially when Im in the city. I find it so incredibly frustrating that only Tesla takes built in dashcams serious. GM could easily add Sentry Mode to their lackluster OnStar service plan so customers have a reason to subscribe.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg.

The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look. My wife and I are retiring this year with over $7,000,000 in tax deferred investments. up until 3 years ago we were 100% in the S&P. During bear markets we had a perfect plan. We got an investment manager in our corner and didn’t look at our portfolio for nearly a year.

I have had an electric car for several months, and I think the main issue should be comfort. A range of 300 miles is equivalent to about 5 hours of driving. There is *no way* I would ever want to drive for that long in a Tesla, because it just isn't that comfortable. The Ford is more comfortable than the Tesla, but it isn't the most comfortable EV on the market.
