“Daddy Lessons” on Lemonade (2016) is country and great. after hearing that the Chicks (also from TX) were performing Daddy Lessons on their tour, they teamed up and performed the song at the CMA awards-and it was a fabulous performance.

If you react to Daddys Lesson make sure it's the Dixie Chick performance it's live it was a bug deal 7 years ago. The Dixie Chick's got banned from the CMA's but Beyonce refused to perform the song if the Dixie Chick's couldn't do it with her. The results the most viewed CMA awards show. Tons of racist emails that caused the CMA's to remove the performance from their website.

Beyonce is doing Blues/Americana which has DEEP African American roots. And she's brought some very special heavy hitters, within the genre, along for the ride to E-DU-MUH-CATE the Folk on the history. ;) We know of Rhiannon Giddens, who I've been following for years, who was playing the banjo on the Texas Holdem track. She's also an INCREDIBLE vocalist and all-around phenom talent. Looking forward to March to see what other significant Black players/pioneers she'll be showcasing.

Eminem has released 10 rap albums. Beyonce has released zero country albums to date. There’s a lot of debate about Bey doing country that just wouldn’t happen if she were white, so I agree up to a point, but there’s also the fact that she’s never represented herself as a country artist in the past quarter century she’s been making music. A little room for skepticism and surprise is warranted and expected.
@dt1769 ай бұрын
@@Micah1814Beyoncé was born and raised in TEXAS. Prior to media training you can hear her accent heavily and also she has country music. Google is absolutely free. This is part of her culture which shouldn’t be up for debate especially because the people questioning Beyoncé can’t do simple google searches.

Also... This album was completed a couple of years ago & there were published reports that Beyonce's next Era would consist of House/Dance, Country and finally Rock... all of which she's dabbled in before. The lyrics but also the artists that she decides to collaborate with have been pioneers and icons in the various genres she's played. With Renaissance, she worked with and credited on the album, the pioneers of House and Disco - who are now receiving their SHINE, and increased revenue. With this album she's doing the same with pioneers and important artists of the genre, including Rhiannon Giddens - a PHENOMENAL artist and a POWERHOUSE in her OWN right. With her incredible voice (operatic levels), her instrumentation, her HISTORY telling (has been instrumenal ;) in the public knowing that the BANJO was an instrumen tbrought to America by Enslaved Africans).... she is AWE inspiring.

Beyoncé's first country song was "Daddy Lessons" from her 2016 album "Lemonade." It was more of a proper jazzy New Orleans country song. "Lemonade" is a very diverse album, encompassing soul, pop, reggae, rock, R&B/pop, country, chillwave, bounce, etc. It was a concept album basically about her marriage experience, essentially her journey through her 12 stages of grief, from Intuition, Denial, Anger, … to Hope and Redemption. Each stage has its own genre to immerse the listener. For example, she incorporated the rock genre for the Anger stage to properly evoke her rage. It was a great album. The album was accompanied by a film with the same name. -- Beyoncé recently released two songs: "Texas Hold'em" and "16 Carriages." since you already reacted to Texas Hold’em, i hope you could also react to "16 Carriages” and “Daddy Lessons.” Also, Beyoncé is releasing her three-act project. She released Act I back in 2022: Act I - Renaissance (house/disco) Act II - [No album name yet] (country) will be released on March 29, 2024 Act III - (rumored to be a rock album)

_Kudos to the composers and that banjo-player is just OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Beyoncé, TOGETHER WITH Nathan Ferraro, Elizabeth Boland, Megan Bülow and Raphael Saadiq wrote TEXAS HOLD 'EM; she produced it with Killah B and Nathan Ferraro.
