Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last few months, you’ve probably had your fill of the name Amber Heard. The court case between her and ex-husband Johnny Depp played out in all of its Livestream infamy recently and ended with a decisive victory by team Depp. In many ways, the disgraced star was redeemed in the public eye when a jury found Heard defamed him in an op-ed about being a survivor of “sexual violence” and “domestic abuse.” As revealed in the trial, the facts behind their relationship and Heard’s allegations of abuse were far from black & white, showing that Depp himself was also a victim of domestic abuse at her hands.
Perhaps the most surprising development was the social media reaction, which was mainly in Depp’s favor. This was a far cry from when Heard made the abuse allegations several years ago, at the height of MeToo, when many took her side. In the end, Depp’s persona has rebounded, and many expect him to one day make a successful movie comeback, while Heard’s career is in tatters. Her reputation is in the gutter now, and many wonder whether or not she will ever work again, especially now that it’s been revealed that her Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom role has been dramatically reduced. Her mistake was making a reference that tied her "abuse" to her former husband (she may not have said his name but she'd only had one husband so there ya go). I genuinely didn't realise that she was in some of those films. Zombieland and Pineapple Express? I guess she kind of just fits into the template of "attractive blonde girl in a film". Her acting clearly isn't anything special, but nor is it terrible, it's generally unnoticeable. I don't know whether that's damning with faint praise, but you can kind of see the difference in talent between her and JD. She's basically coasted on her looks all her life, and JD has taken many interesting roles and created characters that are unforgettable when he could've just capitalised on being a handsome lead male, but he didn't. @@lisatsen1556 I grew up in the nineties and I vaguely recall him being considered a matinee idol and pretty boy or whatever, but the main films I remember him from are character studies and weren't marketed on his looks. Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Public Enemy. He always struck me as an interesting and charismatic character actor, tbh. I never really gave it a second thought, I just thought he was a good actor. AH is barely noticeable. As I say, I don't think she's a bad actress, I just didn't notice her at all. I saw The Rum Diaries and I had no idea that she was in it. Some people have 'it' and some people don't, but either way you can't force it. It's innate.

Hypothetically you could've replaced her in every film she's been in and no-one would really notice. But without JD in, say, Edward Scissorhands, then the film would be an entirely different film. POTC without JD would be entirely different too. I could list any number of his films and they wouldn't be the same without him. I'm not even a massive JD fan, but it's obvious that he brings something original to every role. She's pretty much interchangeable with any other attractive medium level actress.

But between Depp owning his own demons and Heard obviously lying on the stand, she turned some of her ardent defenders that actually watch the trial against her. I'll admit I was on Depp's side in the beginning of the trial. But I was already exposed to the more damning evidence before it happened. But I could have been convinced both were shitty people. Amber is being charged with perjury because SHE (not Depp) was the one to smuggle in the dogs in Australia. She was the one forging signatures. She then forced Johnny to take the blame with her, which is why he gives a half-ass apology in the video (I'd be pissed too if I were in his shoes). In the end, people cared about this case, not because it involved two celebrities airing out their dirty laundry, but because it's one of the few cases where abused men finally had an opportunity to speak up. Up until this case hit, the MeToo movement had been weaponized and reeked of misandry by toxic women like Heard. In contrast, anyone who actually bothered to read the comments supporting Depp would know they were coming from actual survivors of domestic violence (from both men and women), who all experienced the same forms of gaslighting and manipulation Amber did to Depp. Indeed, there are a lot of important issues out there. This is one of them though. Depp brought male abused victims to the spotlight, something we need to pay as much attention to. We can't fight for equality and justice if only one gender is being recognized as a victim of abuse while the other is ignored.

Erm actually $15 million in total Johnny was awarded in the defamation trial the extra $5 million was for Punitive damages, reduced to $350000 due to a capped statutory limit in Georgia. Though the jury said he deserved $15 million dollars. She had too many surgeries. Those implants were too large for her face. And it's only all about her! She does not relate to anyone else's pain. Only her glory. And the fact that she has a child by surrogate, she never felt the child inside her. She did not create that bond like when women carry their babies. So, she tricked Elon Musk by getting his sperm to have a baby. But he already wrote through his attorney that he wanted the fertilized eggs to be destroyed, and he wants nothing to do with her raising a child. So, if she then went and got a surrogate to have this baby, he is not responsible. He already told her he would have nothing to do with that child. It's a shame that the father does not want the child, but if she forced it on him, it's her doing.

I don't hate to say this: the 1.2 billion was far more due to Jason Momoa's incredible screen presence and Nicole Kidman's relatively small screen time as Aquaman's Mum. The latter reflecting far more the alien character of the Atlanteans than Heard's more nothing phases her ... which is not particularly true to the character.

Of all the film and TV listed, I have only seen Aquaman and Justice League, and even then I didn't make the connection until a news report refered to her as "Aquaman Actress" , which just goes to show how forgettable she is. I have no plans to see her in anything else, I'm watching Aquaman 2 and will put up with her for the 10 minutes she's in it, but otherwise I hope she disappears back into the obscurity she deserves. #Justiseforjohnny
