With WB/DC's The Flash finally hitting theaters this Friday, fans have no doubt noticed that the movie's star, Ezra Miller, is nowhere to be seen. Usually, the star of a tentpole movie would be out promoting the heck out of it, but Miller is such an issue for the studio that the actor has been sidelined. What's ironic is that Miller's performance has earned raves, and many people are saying The Flash is one of the best superhero movies ever made. Surely now should be a time for celebration?
Alas, Miller's involvement is why some think the film may under-perform, and many don't want to celebrate anything involving the controversial figure. In this video, we unpack Miller's once-promising career and ask ourselves, is there a way back for the actor?
This episode of WTF Happened to this Celebrity, written (with Brad Hamerly), narrated and edited by Taylor James Johnson.
Do you think Miller should continue as The Flash? Let us know in the comments.

That's not so much irony as it is hypocrisy. And even still it's an unfair situation to compare because they hadn't already filmed the latest Fantastic Beasts movie with Depp and were cutting the film for theatrical release when his accusation against him hit the world, nor was his character so prominent throughout the entire film.

That is what Disney basically do with all their stars... They do a deep background check to see their tweets and behaviour and decide whether or not to star them in their movie... The only MCU actress that sparked controversiality was Brie Larson, due to her feminazi behaviour after she starred in Captain Marvel and they cut her out of almost all the future projects, reducing her role to cameos... Basically quid pro quo... WB on the other hand tend to go for the "most popular actor at the time", thus ending wth arrogant and controversial actors all the time, which flop their movies... WB are playing the "catch-up" game for the better of the last 10 years, not just behind Disney, but behind almost all movie productions... They are milking franchises and casting popular faces to bring cash, but they are several bad productions away from complete downfall... FB was trashed like hell and the DCEU is a complete mess and is about to be cancelled... They have resorted once again to do a Batman movie in order to be relevent and even that is not working anymore, because people are tired of that... And that can be easily proved by it being streamed to HBO less than a month after it premiered... WB is struggling and that can be seen on all fronts...

I may not be a fan of “cancel culture” but Ezra Miller certainly deserves to be “cancelled”. Back when JD was being heavily smeared by Amber TURD. Ezra Miller gladly partake in cancelling him even though everything that’s being thrown at JD during that time are nothing but unproven allegations of abuse. So yeah, Ezra Miller deserves being cancelled, just like that well known proverb said: “Live by the sword, die by the sword.” He gladly cancelled someone from unfounded allegations? Then he should be cancelled too from allegations. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As a person who suffers from numerous mental health issues and life long substance abuse disorder an personal self destruction..... just by looking at some of these photos and clips I see he's obviously using various types of psychoactive drugs and alcohol... an showing signs of bipolar and other issues... the Hollywood studio system should be reigning in their stars and providing them health care an some outside studio guidance and protection from the inevitable breakdown that fame an unfathomable access to monetary freedoms at the fingertips is proven to have on extremely young stars.... one thing you can say about old Hollywood.. at least they were present and accountable for their beautiful rich young assets .... if only they could have evolved that way of studio asset management into a system that was designed to provide stars with utmost Healthcare resources and therapy.. .mentorship for them as they are suddenly plummeted into a deeply dangerous situation for confused and honestly childlike individuals such as many of these stars are.... love your videos BTW!!!! I don't know, maybe they approached him and he couldn't do the role, maybe too busy with other work. When the authorities get their arms wrapped tightly around Ezra at last, his inevitable lawyers (and the rows of attorneys on retainer for the DCEU) should quietly cram him into an MRI machine, because his (and the DCEU's) golden ticket could manifest in the form of a good old-fashioned Joe Six-Pack common-as-dirt tumor pressing against, perhaps, his brain's orbitofrontal cortex, or his amygdala. Or maybe a lesion somewhere in the frontal lobe. None of that sounds anything like good news, but in his case, with top-notch treatment, well . . . . Folks tend to be entranced by talent and are quick to forgive bad behavior from talented people, especially someone with A.) a damned fine (and visibly demonstrable) medical excuse; B.) a (more often than not) treatable one; C.) a subsequent return to the quirky but under-control personality of the past; D.) a plausibly authentic demonstration of shame and contrition; and E.) a reasonably reliable (if expensive) visibly verifiable method of periodically checking for early signs of re-occurrence before relapses can even begin to manifest in outward behavior. With just one gargantuan wholehearted apology tour (accompanied by a metric ton of medical clarification), an attempt at victim restitution (to whatever extent such a thing is possible), and a pointedly transparent spotless post-op pattern of behavior--coupled obviously with a string of competent acting performances-- he would be back in the understanding arms of at least the most loyal of his devoted fan base. And he would qualify for absolute fiscal sainthood in the eyes of all those deeply invested big-shots who've been choking on the demise of what should have proved a lengthy and lucrative franchise. So: With words perhaps never before uttered by human lips: Come on, Brain Tumor! We're all pulling for you!!!

Yet here is Ezra...who arguably had the biggest scene at the end of Zack Snyder's justice league... overtaking the super 3 (Batman Superman and WonderWoman) in the last 5 minutes of the movie.....only to then throw away his career with a series of bizarre crimes. Issue there is Depp hadn't done much filming for Fantastic Beasts at the time he was let go. Was not expensive to recast him as very little had to be reshot. Replacing Ezra, the main character of The Flash film, would be enormously expensive for this movie as filming has long since wrapped and the film is now having its VFX made. Warner would have to call back a significant amount of the original cast and crew to do reshoots, many of whom have likely already moved onto other projects. Any VFX work already done for Ezra would also have to be scrapped. This is not a realistic scenario. Would be cheaper to just dump it on streaming/direct to video, but it seems like they will go ahead with the planned theatrical release.

I remember back in 2014 when it was first announced he was to be The Flash in the DCEU and I saw how enthusiastic he was and respectful about playing the character in all the interviews leading up to BVS. Now general audiences have a tarnished image of the Flash because of what Ezra Miller's been doing for the past few years. He had real promise as an up-and-coming actor in Hollywood. As a longtime Flash fan, truly breaks my heart that due to his actions in the real world, people won't enjoy the movie that was almost 10 years in production hell and that there probably won't be any studio confidence in having a follow-up movie.

I didn’t watch ‘we need to talk about Kevin’ until I had already heard about his first assault… I was like “who’s this guy?” I should not have, freaked me out. Scary person Ezra is.

I haven't watched it either, but I fear it'll be something similar to what happened to me trying to watch some movies with Kevin Spacey. You go from "he's such a good actor, he can be so nice yet so unsettling" from before the allegations to "wow he can seem nice yet, seem so creepy". I love cars chases, but couldn't bear parts of baby driver for that reason.

So I guess in We Need To Talk About Kevin, he was basically just being himself.

I would hope that everyone who has issue with his grooming etc. also recognise this behavior in other celebrities and boycott them as well.

@@onlyme219 maybe, I thought when I first read y'all's comments that Shad was saying "If you don't like grooming, you should make sure to stop grooming wherever you see it, not just in people you already don't like." and that you were saying, "Just because other groomers exist doesn't mean Ezra is allowed to be a groomer." I thought you were saying Shad supported grooming, and I was saying they seem to agree with you, grooming is ALWAYS bad. Sorry if I misunderstood you or Shad, you'd both know what you said better than I would.
