As a few year iRacer I can say this is the talk in the iRacing pits. The new deal with iRacing does not include the words "exclusive rights". which means other manufacturers could possibly make games. And there is even talk of iRacing putting out a console game. Don't give up hope!!

As a non American motorsport fan, i never knew this game was ever going to be a thing, and boy how id LOVE for what is basically an f1 game but with tracks not really found in any other games

It would be amazing. IndyCar is a completely different experience to F1, very American. This means very close racing, bumping, sliding, etc. It would be very refreshing to have such a sim in between the GT3, F1 and Le Mans stuff. Same could be said for NASCAR, it's very underrated. There's only a few arcade games around with properly awful handling (ironically they were made by Motorsport Games).

Reize was developing Indycar car for AMS2 and stopped when the news about MSG & Indycar agreement came out. I believe now they can ressurect their workings and release it. Which is a good thing since AMS2 is a bit more accessible both price-wise and handling-wise.

An Indy car video game will be crucial to grow the series going forward. I got into nascar through nr 2003 and into indycar because of the indy2020 mod. Indycar needs to have a solid game that people want to play with friends if they want to grow the series in the younger cohort.

There’s a chance that Indycar might still get their own stand alone game for consoles. Just not soon because the focus is on NASCAR. But what could happen is iRacing works on Indycar after releasing NASCAR.

Please can you do videos talking about certain drivers? Like a video diving into the career of hello castroneves or even a video talking about Kyle Larson since he will be racing at Indy in May. Also videos about the history of tracks could be interesting. I’m sure many European fans aren’t aware of why the Indianapolis motor speedway is so legendary

It's a crap situation overall, but I think patience will be rewarded ultimately. Now that iRacing has the license, I honestly believe you'll see a new IndyCar game in 2026 made by iRacing's console development team with the old Monster Games employees they took on. People who bought it said the World of Outlaws console game they made was really good. So hopefully those same people make the IndyCar title.

To be fair, Motorsport Games wasn’t the best developer for Indycar to partner with. Equally as damaging to folks like me was Indycar’s separation from iRacing during the span they we’re expecting a video game. I felt that Indycar was doing a disservice by having exclusive rights to the video game only, and not have the Indycar brand represented on multiple platforms. While I am not a fan of the Indycar game being cancelled, I can say that it gave Indycar a chance to return to iRacing and open up the brand for more avenues of virtual media. I know iRacing isn’t the place for casual Indycar fans to engage with the sport. Mostly because of price and the work you’d need to get to that series of racing. But all in all, I think Indycar will take the lessons learned from this experience and adjust accordingly. Hopefully they can work with iRacing to develop a game, just like they did with the World of Outlaws series.

Though I'm not sure iRacing would be the best developer for an IndyCar game either. Even real IndyCar drivers have complained that the grip falls off in an unrealistic and less predictable manner on iRacing. AMS2's version is a little too easy, however a blast (and not THAT easy). Do we want to train for real life, or have fun? Something in-between (or closer to reality) would be awesome (a Kunos version?).

Selling the NASCAR license and IndyCar leaving was the best that could have happened the fact they tried to destroy racing console games is a crime and the former CEO Dimitry Kozko needs to be arrested for money laundering and fraud. Hopefully us NASCAR fans will finally get a good game seeing that iRacing bought Monster Games which they released the World of Outlaws game and maybe IndyCar can hopefully get their own game from iRacing too bc they haven't gotten one since IndyCar Series in 2005.

Isn't iRacing in the process of developing a console game for NASCAR? Now that Indy has a deal with them again, it wouldn't be a bad idea to develop a game. Perhaps the development of one series could carry over to the other one with minor changes. I know I would buy it, for sure.

That was mentioned in the video, their target is 2025 for the NASCAR console game (and PC, separate from the traditional iRacing platform)

I wouldn’t be surprised if they made the Indycar game after the NASCAR game. They made the World of Outlaws game, they’re making a NASCAR game, so it makes sense to make the Indycar game. iRacing is turning into what MSG wanted to be, which is a having the Motorsport gaming ecosystem under them. The different is iRacing is proving themselves more than throwing money at licenses and hoping for the best. Which makes for a stronger foundation for iRacing. It’s the the old tale of The Tortoise and The Hare. MSG cut too many corners and it fatally hurt them. While iRacing is being slow and steady and focusing on quality over quantity.

Fact is Motorsport Games NEVER had the manpower to take on all these acquired licenses, it was all an investment scam from day one. The KartKraft studio (Black Delta, aka Motorsport Games Australia) was too small to put something this big together. They were an indie startup who took 15 years to get KartKraft where it was eventually left off half finished (when they got forced by MSGM to work on the IndyCar development). We were never going to get a fully deep game for IndyCar from them... it would had been very bare bones if it ever released (and probably would had released with outdated content). Hopefully after NASCAR console gets back on their legs, maybe iRacing (and their Monster Games studio) will be able to try an IndyCar offering for console players too... but guessing that'll be 2027 or later. Few extra note... Motorsport Games only published NASCAR Heat 5 (and then developed and published Ignition 21), not the earlier of the Heat series (as mentioned Heat 4 in the video).

I remember that game as well. It barely ran on my old Compaq desktop. Before that, I had Namco Museum 2(??) for the PS1. I enjoyed the code or switch setting that turned Pole Position 2's test circuit into a very long straightaway. Now it's Forza Horizon or Motorsport for me. Too bad the latest FM is said to be junk.

I love project cars I bought in because I’m an Xbox guy I bought the 2nd one I loved it handling was shit but I learned to adapt and have fun I just want an Indy car skin with push to pass on f1 23

As unfortunate as it is to see the console game die for the time being, I am over the moon happy that MSGM is no longer holding the license hostage. The only people at MSGM that I feel any degree of pity for are the front line developers. Everyone else got what they deserved with this.

Dylan. Super happy to see you back and this production volume is awesome dude. I found you early in your F1 content days and my kids (who race karts) and I watched your channel and I pointed out to them how talented you were at a young age. To see your switch to Indy endeared us further as we love IndyCar in our household. I realize actually monetizing this and doing it with a smaller worldwide fan base would prove to be a challenge. But so happy you came back. My biggest idea for content is flat out driver profiles. Simple formula. Short, description of their history, but even some background of who they are as racers and humans. F1's meteoric rise here in the states we all know is due to DTS. Indycar marketing despite their couple shows simply has not introduced us to the personalities and teams in the sport. They are not doing enough to create the rooting interests required to draw high engagement. For example, even as a big indycar fan... I didn't have someone I strongly pulled for... until Scott McLaughlin was exceedingly nice to my children on the grid in St. PETE last year. Then I got personally invested in him. F1 marketing found all kinds of ways to get fans personally invested by highlighting drivers and teams. It sounds simple but I think people on the fringe of the sport are seeking that content. Who are these guys? Lastly, and I mean this - we should connect about getting you to the states for a race. I have connections and a million hotel points and happy to help make it happen if you have appetite to cross the pond. The music is good bro. Love that you are putting it out there. Again, happy to have you back and producing so much content. All the way from Richmond, Virginia USA. (I own the company of which my moniker represents here in Virginia.)

I think Papyrus's 1993 IndyCar Racing (and its 1996 sequel) was responsible for at least a chunk of the boom in popularity in IndyCar in the 1990s. Phenomenal game.

I am someone who no longer takes the effort to watch any sports and just watches the highlights and youtube vids covering said topics. Gaming is the only way aside from merch that I engage with any sport in any meaningful way. I really do hope we can see the release of a quality Indycar racing game so I can have some semblance of familiarity with the series. The only knowledge I have of it is from creators like you and anytime there is F1 crossover and thats about it.

It probably comes down to licensing of the tracks, cars, and driver names. Anyway, I have RFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa games with many of the tracks and a car set to keep me entertained for Indycar or Nascar. I used to race Indycar and Nascar on Papyrus games long time ago. They were fun at that time. Then IRacing took over handling both racing series. I just did not want to do the subscription thing, so racing online in these series ended for me. It would be nice if IRacing also did an Indycar console game to the PC or make an add-on to the proposed Nascar console game coming in 2025. Thanks for your info and video. Take care.

Good video bro. You know something, when the Indycar game was announced, I was so happy. But now seeing that iRacing is going to get Indycar liscence again (I dont have nothing against iRacing, i love iRacing), I felt bad cause I play in a Series X and I really want to race again my friends in that game. But so sad that we are not having the Indycar game. Lets hope that iRacing make the ofiicial game like the new NASCAR game P.D: Can you make a video explaining the Hybrid engine plisss❤

Unless it has changed in the last couple of years, iRacing just isn't a financially modest enough outlay for me, and working my way up the ladder, buying tracks and cars, is why I quit. I wish it wasn't so. I ran IndyCar in rFactor and had a lot of fun, but I don't know if that or rFactor are viable options anymore. Sure wish the solo game had come out. Was it only going to be for consoles or would it have run on a PC too?

Did you know you can drive IndyCar mods or the Formula USA, which is as close to IndyCar as a sim can legally get, on AMS2? They are very fun to drive. Mind you, I DO like the iRacing version. But I thought you might not be aware of that option.

I get why they canceled the MSG contract, but iRacing is just way too expensive. It’s subscription based and some content has to be purchased additionall. Also it is not at all made for casual players.

iRacing now does console games as well. They made a World of Outlaws sprint car game last year that was very well done. Hopefully IndyCar could get them to make a console game as well... I believe iRacing currently have the okay to make a NASCAR console game. We could be in for a good suite of games from them across the world of motorsport that are all stable solid titles and console gamers will get a taste of iRacing without that monthly subscription and with a more casual gameplay feel...

iRacing wouldn’t use physics from an MSG studio. That’s blasphemy. Realistically, they would port everything from iRacing and then make it more controller friendly. Plus add tracks that aren’t on the iRacing service.

If you learned that Paul Logan had bought the rights to IndyCar and was about to make a game, would you be hyped? I guess not. So how could you be hyped when a company that has ZERO video game experience, tells you they're going to create a game based on IndyCar? Do some research maybe? Who is working in this company, what have they done before, what do they have to show so far.. well nothing. They started as an empty shell without ANY talent or experience. Using investor money to buy out a couple dev studios which are already not that good is shady at best. There's studios out there like Polyphony Digital, Turn 10, Codemasters, BIG studios and THEY already have a hard time releasing decent racing games. And you are hyped by a company which only reason to exist is to find investors, buy out studios with 1 or 2 franchises to get more investors in and so on until the bubble explodes, they resell everything and disappear... and tell you that they "tried so hard". People are hyped so easily these days its crazy...
