This is one of my absolute favorite games of recent history. Tight action, flawless game mechanics, great soundtrack, great difficulty and replay ability. Once you master the easy-to-learn game mechanics this game will give you moments that will make you feel like an absolute bad ass.

This game tricks you with the first level being kinda easy, then throws you into hell with the 2nd, with the hardest boss in the game too.
@cmrninfinity11 жыл бұрын
I like how the first thing that TB highlighted was 'quit' in the main menu.
@Legion64011 жыл бұрын
God right when I heard him say he was going to "bump to difficulty" on the worms level my response was literally "DON'T DO IT!". God, this game can be very irritating at times, but those damn worms are hell.
@killerassassinx5x11 жыл бұрын
I was going for the all levels on V. Hard achievement. That was the only level that I seriously wanted to kill the devs for. I beat the last boss on V. Hard before I got the worms!!!

CalledParrot240 A simple (if not minor) overuse of the same word to start off sentences. Matters little and there is nothing more to it.

Duel pistols is by FAR the best weapon in the game, not even joking.

Dear TB, glad to see the sound is working despite the technical issues, unsure if you were able to correct them or had to reshoot, either way the video was entertaining and fun as usual, thanks for an enjoyable experience ^_^

I own this game, and I can safely say, for what it is, it is actually a lot of fun. And it is very mechanically sound. Basically what TotalBiscuit said, I recommend getting it.

One must also remember that it can be a stylistic choice. There are people with opinions that don't match yours, who legitimately enjoy the 8bit and 16bit style

Played through it in one sitting on V-Hard. Its freaking awesome, the gameplay is fun and addictive and weapon unlocks and upgrades are fun ,the music and graphic style despite being pretty cliche is really well executed and the boss fights are interesting and challenging and there are a lot of them .The only negative thing I can find with it is that it is pretty short and the jumping mechanic is kind of messy some times but when you do everything right while in slo-mo its extremely satisfying

I think this is one of those games where you can't really call it unfair. Like, it gives you these amazing powers, that work well under any situation, so you should be able in sense to beat every level without getting hit. Just need to be skilled. Games need to be more like this, implementing skill more instead of frustration, and slow grinding. 9/10

TB ever calls it 16 bit. 8-bit isn't just a generic adjective for retro games, it's a term for a specific pixel art style.

The cave is interesting, like trine but with more than 3 characters (only 3 at a time) and you solve puzzles more than platform or fight. Collecting and moving things. Some funny dialogue, fairly polished, i support it.

Keywords: "small indie team". I made some small games myself, but by far don't have the cash to hire a graphic artist (neither do I want to). I have no idea how to make graphics myself that look better than 8-bit style/minecraft style without putting WAY too much time in it.

Consider that I'm talking about graphical "style" not the actual fidelity and quality of a game. A 8/16-bit 2D game can just as easily have the capability to be considered "perfect" as much as any modern style polygon-based 3D game; that's simply down to particular preference.

I was writing that half seriously. I understand that pixel art is just likable in general. Pleasant to the eyes really,if done well. But games being made is what i was talking about.Indie Developers are the ones usually who are making these pixel art games, and they are doing it because they grew up with it. I grew up with games like Morrowind and half-life 1.So even though i like pixel art games to a point, there is nothing i get more nostalgic for then popping in Morrowind and walking around.

With a movie, the story is told with the visuals and the writing. A book is told through the writing. Story isn't told through gameplay, it's generally through text, or visuals, or dialogue.

Pixel-Art has BECOME! an art style it didn't always exist. Games we're pixelated back in the '70s '80s and early '90s because of the limitations of what the fidelity and processing power of the graphic processors could display. Back then those we're called just graphics, and because of our CTR Displays those pixels would bleed into one another and looked smoother so they weren't all that obvious. It has been called pixel art with the popularization of Retro-Gaming and retro comebacks.
@bjoern00712 жыл бұрын
only complaint i have about this game is the lack of a need of alternate weapons. The dual pistols and the rocket launcher seems like the the best weapons and the only ones you actually need to complete the game

@uzernam30211 жыл бұрын
this game looks really good, i'm rather tempted to pick it up. i think it's somewhat unfair to call it "hyper generic", because it has a "retro" art style or involves multi-directional shooting? yeah, that in and of itself may not be all that rare, probably exceedingly common in flash games, but come on we'd then have to call any and every game with a gun or just about any weapon in it "generic". or just about any game would be generic as so many have been released i cant really fathom there's any game possible that wouldn't have something in common with previous games. the mechanics seem fresh enough and certainly look well executed, at least from having seen them in action but not actually played them. yes it has multi-directional shooting and shiny projectile evading, but it combines it with interesting mechanics like the air dashes and seems to have set itself apart from the "generic". and yeah it has a "retro" art style but i think it's a rather good one with some nice color, doesn't feel "generic" either just because it's "retro". i think the game itself looks fairly distinctive and interesting, doesn't really strike me as something i'd call "generic" in the least, as that's something that I'd associate "common" or "uninspired". and this game doesnt strike me as common or uninspired at all. it kinda reminds me of the old Contra or Megaman games, but with a pink-haired chick as the main character. and i think that's a pretty good thing.

Wow, haven't see a game having so many "Oh that game" moments thrown at you in a long time :) From the Scott Pilgrim movie(not a game though:), Max payne, Castlevania, donkey kong, well the list goes on... Genius imo :) And i agree with you TB, the mechanics is what makes a game.

Also, no, Bleed is not "hyper-generic." It's actually rather funny and charming. To provide a point of comparison, I'm someone who found, say, Retro City Rampage's sense of humor and constant references tiresome; I'm not a pushover about these things. Yet Bleed won me over and made me smile.
