Thanks for the complete review have been waiting months for a review of the Black Edition, Thanks for showing all the equipment, especially the ventilated front seats and rear A/C vents very much needed for southern buyers, 90 + heat 8 months of the year. Downsizing from a 2010 F150 with 172k miles will be ordering this same Truck this April. Thanks for your help. From South Ga. Love my 2018 RLT-T Ridgeline. The V6 is very snappy, plenty of power to handle the payload and tow weights. You didn't mention the AWD system on the truck, it's phenomenal. It can climb any grade the other trucks can and maintain better control on wet and snowy surfaces.

I love what you said about the upper rpm range! This is where the turbo 4s lack, making their peak torque early. I have a pic of a 23 Ridgeline parked beside a 23 Frontier. From the rear view, the Ridgeline is significantly larger. Against other 5' bed competition, the only regret is the bed depth, but then there's the in bed trunk.

Me too... I like the 24 ridgeline... it has the best design compared to the previous ones. I wonder if they are going to introduce a newer body design for next year. There are a few things I wish this truck had, maybe a longer bed, better mpg, a little bit better tow option and lastly, if they could flatten out the back floor when the seats are lifted up. But, even the way it is now, I really like these new ridgelines!

This is such an upgrade from the 2023 but unfortunately missing rain sensing wipers which have been available on Canadian spec Ridgelines for several years. Would be nice to have an integrated brake controller for towing a trailer but at least its still prewired for it. Kind of wish the in bed speakers weren't ditched even if most didn't use them. It's also an odd omission to not put in a conversation mirror on the sunglass holder when it seems clearly designed to have one and it's gotta be a super cheap feature.

Now that I’m getting into my mid 30s having all the flashy trail bosses and ford raptors are not as appealing as they used to be especially for the prices they are now and the quality/reliability. I purchased a loaded Frontier Pro4X last year and I'm disappointed overall. I really didn't need that level of capability and transmission programming and payload capacity are terrible. I should have looked at the Ridgeline because it has over 400 pounds more payload, so now I'm considering trading the P4X for a Ridgeline BE.
@Skunked684 ай бұрын
Yes, I was juiced on Pro 4X, close to buying one, but winter roads and part time 4x4, having to think about throwing the switch when rear wheels start sliding around, and then think about not in 4x mode for sections of dry pavement. I don’t want to return to the part time tech of my 1989 little Blazer of long ago. Frontier has heavier hydraulic steering that many grouse about and I bet larger turning radius. Slightly more gas to go A to B with Frontier. But I do like its beefier truck-ier looks better. I don’t care one bit pulling anything nor off roading. Just if the e-bike fits in back crossways to squeeze in a laid down position. Motorcycle ramp to roll it in and a 9” tall wood step up box to be taller for laying it down, pulling bike up. I’m looking forward to Ridgeline test drive tomorrow. Just hope enough legroom for long legs. 6+ years ago I sat in one and was disappointed in legroom. But all time AWD, that’s a huge plus. I’ve been spoiled by Subaru a long time, but they ditched the truck bed. Which is coming back soon, but I doubt as big as Honda’s. Thanks for your input on Frontier. It’s close to just right, but not for me. Part time 4x would be the worst part in snow country. It so nice to not have to think about, just hit the gas and go.
@dlg54854 ай бұрын
@@Skunked68 The Pro4X also doesn't allow 4WD to be switched on at highway speeds, which is idiotic. That's the main time I need it on my daily commute. Ultimately, I did decide to get rid of the P4X and get a Ridgeline a couple months ago...best decision I could have made. The Ridgeline isn't perfect (no vehicle is), but it's a very nice truck, far more suitable to my needs and it's way more comfortable than the Frontier.

Did this specific model take the place of my leased 2023 Honda Ridgeline " RTL-E " & by how much ?
@Ravenator9 ай бұрын
Nope - I believe the four trim models for 2024 are the Sport, RT-L, Trailsport & top-o-the-line Black Edition (reviewed here). I’m currently leasing a 21 Sport & will either buy it @ lease end or lease a 24 Trailsport.

I think in 24, the RT-L is just one step above the Sport, the Trailsport is 2nd highest trim level to the Black Edition - so I would think the RT-L is basically the same trim level you have now, with the Trailsport having more of the off-road upgrades like skid plate, knobby tires, different seat trim, all -weather floor mats, different grille, etc

It brakes pretty well, if you’re used to driving sedans or coupes it jerks a little when braking at a light, other than that it has prevented me from rear ending a couple of times. I would always recommend slamming the brakes on any vehicle you test drive.

Honda needs to update the interior and get rid of the gloss black trim. Nobody likes plastic that scratches and gets prints all over it. They also need to update the engine to the 6-cylinder DOHC in the Pilot with the 10-speed transmission. Maybe for 2025.
@christopherjohn14679 ай бұрын
This older v6 is tried and true. The new one not so much as of yet and the 10 speed transmission is no ZF9.
@pigxstix9 ай бұрын
Won't be 2025, they aren't going to do a redesign right after a refresh. I went to the LA Auto Show and Honda rep told me the plans are to give the Pilot a hybrid first. Then they will the update the Passport to the Pilot's new design also with hybrid. After that, they will address the Ridgeline. The '24 refresh is intended to hold people over until then. You're probably looking at 2027 at the earliest.
@jamesdonaldson73969 ай бұрын
@@pigxstix I'm fine without a major refresh, but that glossy black plastic is a deal-breaker. Sounds trivial, but having lived with it in another vehicle, never again. I'll look at other mid-size trucks next year if they just trot the same thing out for 25.
