Well, the DJ did say he had a surprise for the folks. It just wasn’t a pleasant surprise. Thank you for saving these important moments in history.

David you are an amazing curator and are second to none. Thank you for unearthing this media and preserving it, hopefully, for all time. This helps those of us who weren't born yet, the opportunity to experience this tragedy as those who lived through it.

The talk show hosts were Floyd (Hap) Richards and Bob Ellsworth, both legendary Connecticut broadcasters. Richards had a 15-minute morning children’s TV show through the 60s and early 70s.

RIP Robert MacNeil, he was so fast, so accurate on this day. A real exemplar of the values of his profession.

this news over the radio & with no television, would have been scary to listen to if you lived in a remote area.

I’m from CT and watch WTIC TV but being in BPT in 63 my folks listens to WICC, I was 5 and a half that sad day but do remember it because 1st bc mothers reaction of shock then tears, I remember 4 days straight no cartoons, remember I was 5, remember dads reaction to Oswald getting shot. I have since then studied this case very deeply and have come to my own conclusions.I have discussed this case on my own broadcasts since but it along with 911 and a few other events. Have stuck with me

Why do I keep hearing Rosie the Robot beeps during phone calls?
