I have two theories of why this man only could help the boy. He is an angel of sort, but he cannot interfere with people's decisions. Even if they violate somebody. But this boy however wouldn't choose to get run over by the car, nor the driver, so he could stop that. Second is, that he has predicted the potential accident to the boy, and couldn't make time to interact with what happened on the way. He needed to be at this place in the right moment.

I believe this man is representing someone that is coming from an utopic world, and when he gets to our world, as a shadow, he undestands that the selfishness, the cruelty is all around us and nobody can see what realy mather. The dreams are repleaced by our desire of being better than others,have more tahn them, and we forget that it makes us a lot less tahn what we could become. I know that i'm late to the part of Within Temptation which does make me feel like crying at time. I wish that I heard them a them a long time ago not 2 years ago and I really wish that English radio stations played there songs. This song is a awesome song and one of the best videos for a song I've ever seen. I think that the video sums up the way life is these day which is a very very sad life that we all are living in today. I love the fact the guy "Angel" let bad things happen but he had to interact with the world to stop the kid from getting his toy which will intern the kid would got run over and the kid see the "Angel" and the "Angel" disappears but the mother doesn't see any of all of that and carries on with life as normal. Weather believe or not we all got to thank god for these miracles that do happen in life or at lease believe that miracles do happen in the real world and keep your hope and dream and it will work out in some way or another.
